Take Your Dog to Work Day

So... Friday, June 20 is Take Your Dog to Work Day. Anyone here get to take their newf to work?

I was shocked when I asked my boss if I could bring one of my three dogs in, and he said Yes!!! I plan to bring my newf-mix who is so laid back. My husband plans to bring the other two in at some time, and we'll probably have a big play date with the other dogs in our large multi-purpose room.

I stopped at Super-Target on my way home from work today and picked up some toys in the $1 spot as well as some chewy treats. Should be fun!

Montana and Yogi go to work with me everyday. We have a print shop/ Art Gallery. They are Angels at work and they get lots of visitors. If I charged people for petting them, I would be able to retire early.

Unfortunately the only Dogs allowed in my work place have a Badge and Sniff Dope for a living. My girls would love it, but, then no one would be on the street, they would all be at HQ playing with the Newfies.

Not today, but Hudson usually comes with me to work twice a week. We sometimes have an office full of dogs. Gertie, a boston terrier, comes every day. One of two bulldogs comes with her most days. Then the lab Stella comes when she's not feeling well, which is unfortunately pretty often, and occasionally Sam, the sweet pit mix who needs some behavior management, shows up. Unfortunately we've learned that Sam and Rita are a bad combination in our relatively small office so those two cannot be there the same day. Recently we got in trouble for there being dog poop in the small back yard. This was shocking to us because, hey, we're not stupid. We know this is a privilege and we clean up after our dogs. YEsterday we caught the culprit: the dog who lives next door!

If I was working out of our office, I would have been able to. Unfortunately, I am working at a customer site today :cry:.

HB..do you 'take your mommy to work today.." yeah..thought ya would. ;) I think the trend to allowing people to bring in pets at work..is a good one..hope it continues/grows. It is..with good manners all around..a very healing, restoritive portion of time. ina n HB

aww, I didn't know! I did take Jeffrey with me for take your son/daughter to work day back in April. He was awesome, so well behaved he made me proud ;-)

One of the perks of working at a remote ranger station where the brass rarely visited was a lot of "take your dog to work days.":)

Beau and Apache go to work with me everyday as well. In fact they drive us nuts on the weekends because they think they need to go somewhere on those days too.

Matt works downtown, but everyday at his office is take your dog to work day. He usually brings each one once a week. I refuse to part with them both all day :) Today I am bringing our little foster Ross into his office to work on socializing him!! And if he pees on the floor it's no big deal because they are stained concrete!!

They don't allow dogs here, but as you may have seen in my earlier post, I did sneak a rescue in temporarily yesterday.

Sometimes when I have a day off I will bring my dogs in for a quick visit. People are always begging to see them :D

I brought Dixie on Tuesday. We usually have someone's dog here atleast once a week. Today we had Callie, the Rottwieler, she left to go read with kids at the library. Our members (credit union) are invited to bring their dogs in too. We had Holly the collie today and she got to meet Callie. Callie and Dixie have been here together and get along really well. People always ask if we have any dogs here today, the enjoy seeing them behind the teller line. We also know which members have dogs and we give them treats to take home if their pet is not with them.

Well... I brought my newf-mix here to work this morning, and the hubby brought the other two over later. They played with a lab/hound mix, silky terrier, cocker spaniel, & a golden retriever. Had lots of fun until a toddler got nipped by the lab/hound. :( Doubt my boss will ever let it happen again. Bummer.

wow, yup, Id say bring your dog to work day is officially banned at your work. Sorry to hear of this :(

Im definitely jealous of all of you who work with your dogs everyday. I used to pass by an art gallary whos owner had a wolf / husky mix that he had adopted from a native american tribe about 9 years back. The dog was HUGE (looked like a great dane on steroids with a lot more fur) and would just lay in the window so still it took me a few passes before I realized it was actually not a stuffed dog! What a sweatheart he was and boy did he add a wonderful ambiance to the shop.

I think we should start a picture thread of those of you who bring your Newfs to work on a daily basis!!!

I couldnt bring my dog to work ....so I scheduled myself off.....called it bring your mom home day......lol
