Sally is going in tomorrow for surgery to her right hip.We drive to Ames tomorrow. She is my little velcro girl it will be hard not having her in the house. She is eating the Sprintime chews and I have cut back on the Canidea(Hope that is spelled right). They are cuting the bone and moving back into the socket. I am nervous.
Any suggestions?

Awww, poor baby! I'm sure she'll be fine and feel all better before you know it!! My stepfather had his hip replaced, and it sounds like a similar operation. He was sore for a while, but now he's just fine!

Keep yourself busy while she's having surgery. If you're not at work, go for a long walk in the park, or shopping. Tell the vet to call your cell when she's through with surgery. Much better than pacing the floor at home. Time will go much faster if you keep yourself busy. If you are staying on site at the vet's, have someone go with you, if possible. They can help keep your mind off of worrying.

Good thoughts for a smooth surgery for Sally. Just look forward to how much better she will be after she recovers. She'll be sooooo much more mobile and comfortable. Be sure to let us know how she does. Hugs.

I will definitely be thinking about you and sending good thoughts and prayers. Keeping busy during the surgery will help you!!!

Just came across this thread. Hope things went and are going well. Betsey, a Newf owned by an older couple I know was about 4/5 when she had both of her hips replaced within a 2 year time frame. She did GREAT. Was so much more able and free. GOOD LUCK.
