Stopped in to say Hello

Apparently it was back in mid-September when I unplugged my laptop and put it away...until yesterday...when I had to catch up on personal "paperwork" and get ready to file taxes. It was hard to come on here...I still grieve a lot for Anya whom I lost to bone cancer November 2013. And, it was because of Anya that I found this forum and made so many newfie connections and actually met and made many newfie friendships from this forum.

But, joyful news...Eden Anne turned 13 back in December. She is going strong and seems to move even better than she did when she was 9. And, she is just on dry kibble (and treats!). No rimadyl, tramadol, or other substance to aid with joint pain.

Fiona, whom I brought home January 1, 2014, (she is 5 years old) is also doing great. She didn't have to have any vet visits until it was time for her annual vaccines January 2, 2015. She is a small girl for a newf but has a lot of energy for play when outside but calm, sweetness when indoors. And, I believe I posted on here not long after she joined me and Eden, what a crazy dog she is when I am doing errands and leave her in the car. Well, she still is. I refer to her (lovingly, of course) as a whack-job.

I hope to get another newf in the future. I had purchased a cart and harness shortly before Anya was diagnosed with cancer. The harness is way too big for Fiona. So, I jokingly say I need to get a smaller harness or a bigger newf. Hmmm...wonder which one will come first.

That about sums up the last 5 months or so. I may keep the laptop plugged in now that it is out and stop in more often.

Gwen, I haven't posted in a long time (took a long break from NN), but saw this post and just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about Anya. Our younger newf (age 6) was just diagnosed with Osteosarcoma last week and we are navigating through options. Just wanted to let you know that I read your story and am thankful you posted. Wishing you the best!
