Well Raven is still limping slightly and if l let her off leash to burn some energy then an hour later she isn't happy.

took her to the vets today so for the next week metacam and restricted exercise only:-oh joy for my hyper girl more rest:nono:

l know they said if not more xrays though l am pushing for a ct scan so we can see what the problem is. Her knee is stable and l have done incline and ladder work with her as she has just finished her season so not allowed to do hydrotherapy.

the vet said her knee felt slightly warmer than the other side so perhaps her surgery hasn't taken as well as it should have or the metalwork is giving her a reaction are the first two concerns.

My poor girl is not a happy camper .

More chance of winning the lottery than keeping this one quiet unless it's when she wants a massage as that's the only time she is a lap dog

Well the vet thinks there may be fluid in the joint but l am insisting this time we do a ct scan of the leg to make sure we know the worst.

waiting for Monday and more info to decide our next move.

So sorry to hear that.... just be very careful with metacam, PLEASE, it is what they think caused Yussie's perforation.... she was on meatacam after her surgery and only short term, becuase her surgery went really well. Yussie was too stoic and i had no idea she had tummy issues, until too late.

I have been very lucky with my Ortho surgeries. Katy had the TPLO and she was walking well the day after.... I also had issue with keeping them calm, the Puzzles were what my dogs loved as it made them brain tired and lots of touch games. katy is still a touch fanatic four years later... and she still loves the puzzles, bring out a box and she is with you immediatly.

Have you tried hot and cold compresses... I did that for Katy and once the suture line had healed I used arnica cream, it is very natural for inflammation.

I also put my dogs on high doses of VIT C and E when they have any issues at all as it helps with healing and fighting any infection /inflammation naturally.

Good luck, you seem to be doing it tough again :(

Ct scan booked 12th may unless l can get a cancellation.

Raven is on gwf joint supplement, gold paste , multivatimin and mineral supplements, which she isnt keen on, joint massage,hot/cold compresses have been used, tens machine as well.

Good job Luna is ok as yes l must be a magnet for the difficult ones ,still it makes me great for advice if nothing else.

Just want her comfortable and enjoying life again.also have stopped the metacam already as would rather know if she is uncomfortable than mask the pain and she makes the problem worse.

Just been looking at elbow replacement in case its completely shot, basically so long as its not cancer again we know anything is doable but not knowing is the worst.

Problem is she wants to do stuff so keeping her quiet is boring for her.

Little darling is being challenging. Keep ringing up every other day to see if there are any cancellations but still fully booked up.

Checked with her insurance so l know how much can be spent without worrying.

She had her leptospirosis 4 strain jab today and her leg was rechecked aagain.still nothing obvious but the leg isnt right.

Apart from that my wildchild is doing well so doing loads of massage, gold paste and supplements just in case.gentle walks on softer ground or just shorter walks and you can see she isnt walking correctly.

Still we perservere and hope its something silly or easily fixable.
Whatever it is she will get everything she needs and the best care even if we have to add to it.

How many weeks now since the surgery? Is it too early to do water therapy. I know that Katy was not allowed to swim for 16 weeks after her TPLO.... but after that we went everyday for ages. She was not allowed to swim, but was allowed to walk in the water from 3 weeks, which the physio told me would strengten and help. The water was about 10" deep. It was hard to take a keen swimmer and only walk on the side of the river, but she has healed so well.... Have you thought of an animal rehab person. or even ask help from one. Physio's often have more ideas. We went to one before to talk about all the stuff I would and should do pre Katy and pre Yussie surgery.... I just hope it all gets better, it tough

Hi Ronnie
She has been seen by a physio who already says her muscle tone is good but they are concerned that she has fluid in her joint.
Advised not to overdo it with her and no hydro until we know what is up with the leg in case we make it worse.

So restricted exercise only, bad days some metacam but we are witholding it unless absolutely necessary.

Basically another learning curve with this one
