So. Embarrassed.

So it's taken a very long time, but I've finally mustered the strength to throw out Maggie's Couch. The one she ate. It's horrible you guys-it's torn, and dirty and sitting at the curb, and the trash men HAVEN'T COME YET!!

Where are they?? They are usually rumbling through the neighborhood at 7am. What if they don't pick it up??? I tried to cover it up with an old drop cloth I used to cover the top of it in the house, but Oh. My. God.

I am so afraid someone is going to take a picture of it, and 3 months from now it'll end up in my FB feed somehow. :shocker:

Our trash service will not pick up furniture unless you make previous arrangements. Maybe you will get lucky.
Don't worry about it though. When I finally threw Gabriel's recliner out it sat there by the road for most of the day with dog hair and drool stuck all over it and half the wood and/or springs sticking out...The boy did love that chair!

When Snuffles moved here, the only furniture he was allowed on was a old couch from my youth in the Family Room that Mom talked about getting rid of long before Snuffles. When we had our Family Room totally remolded in April 2011, Snuffles' couch went bye bye. I do not think he misses it since he never stayed on it long, and he got a new cool tile floor instead of old warm carpet instead. Now I know his old home had a Love Seat he took a bite out of almost day one, and it went away not long after Snuffles.

They FINALLY came. And now I'm a little sad. :!rolling:

I bought her a "new" leather love seat off Craigslist, so the Maggie now has a better sofa than I do.

That's so funny. It reminds me of a story my mom tells. When we were little we had a ratty old couch (not ratty from a dog, just from wear). My mom was sooo happy the night they put it out for the trash because it snowed! And no one could see how tattered it was. Well, wouldn't you know, when we (the children) went out to catch the bus, we dusted the whole thing off! I'm sure we thought we were being helpful, but my mom was crushed. I hope your trash man has come by now!
