Should I be worried?

Willow has started to pop when she gets up and when she goes upstairs she pops once or twice on the way up. She isn't showing any lameness but I was wondering if popping is common or not? Turner very rarely pops if ever.

Do you mean her hip is making a popping noise? Millie's did that once in a while while she was growing but I haven't heard it for some time. I am by no means an expert, but I don't think I would be concerned yet considering she is so young...

My Roger's hips used to pop when he was younger. If I felt the hip area while he walked I could feel it as it popped. I was told it was joint laxity. His hips were fine. I was told to build the muscle in his rear and that worked very well.

My dogs both had popping hips when they were young. Both have OFA good hips. An OFA xray by a good radiologist will tell. It's worth it to know.

Good thank you for all your advice. I didn't think it was a big deal but I wanted to check on here before I take her in. They are going in for check ups next week.

what tests are you going to do?

when Maxs hips popped you could tell it hurt him and he wasn't happy afterwards. its why we did the surgery and he is happy and in no discomfort now

Thankfully she's showing no signs of discomfort so for now we are going to talk to the vet at her appt and go from there.
