Short Bus Sky

Poor Sky has bi-lateral Elbow Dysplasia and needs surgery on both front legs. To make things worse, the weakness in the front has caused a partial ACL in his right rear... so we'll be fixing that as well. In the meantime he tends to lose his balance a lot and we kindly tease him that he is a danger to himself....

.. hence his new attire... (which he wore only long enough for this photo!)

It's a good thing our dogs are SO patient with us.

OMG!! That is TOOOOOO funny (the helmet, not the joint problems!) Hope all goes well with his surgeries. Please keep us informed on when he's having them and how he's doing.

Thanks! Sky's first surgery to repair the Fragmentation of the coronoid process (FCP) is tomorrow morning. His ACL will be a month after that... they want to then move on to the other two legs but I want to wait and see how he fares before doing that. He's just 11 months old and that much confinement is just too long.

That picture is too funny - and you're right - it really IS a good thing they're so patient with us, isn't it? On the flip side, what awful news! I'm so sorry to hear about all these problems, and you guys are in my thoughts and prayers today......

I'm glad I hadn't just taken a sip of coffee, I would have spit it all over the screen. Sorry about the joint problems but from the look of that face....patience seems to be a quality. I hope it all goes well.

Thanks for the kind wishes.

Patty - I got a second and a third opinion as well. I was really hoping someone was wrong. They actually want to do all 4 legs but we are going to do two now, continue working with his holistic vet to support the left side, and look into accupunture and Chiro work... he's really a sweet and good natured boy too.
