Maybe it's a British thing??? :roflmao:

Are you sure they are scrapes, and not tiny hotspots? I mean, what could he be scraping them ON? Nanook sometimes gets little hotspots in that area, (though he lacks the equipment now).

Would bring him to the vet, myself. Since this is something that appears to be happening to him consistently, there might be some underlying cause.

In the meantime, treat with neosporin!

Nessa maybe you are right I may try some gold bond, looking more closely they seem to fill with puss then scab off??maybe its because he is damp down there, it is always wet here in the UK ;) xxx

Sounds like a localized infection - maybe staph? I'd still see the vet - he might need antibiotics to break the cycle of infection.

Orka's orchids are getting very large, and he is shedding his fur, so they're more exposed. He cannot resist hopping into every stream puddle pile of leaves so gets debris stuck on his orcs all the time. I have to pluck them of sticks twigs briars constantly. His underbelly is always wet. Raining continually here now.

So I check them with flashlight frequently and they're OK, no sores. Orka licks and nip-grooms them thoroughly also. He's going through a big growth spurt now, surprising us, getting ridiculously long, and finally his head is growing! Muzzle getting longer. It's like having a freaken pony in the house! :roflmao: And he's gotten very hungry again.

When Lynn comes home in the evening she can see that he's bigger; that's how fast he's growing now. We took him to a Newf Club potluck last Saturday and stood him by some full-grown males and he still has growing to do to match them but is now just as looonnnggg at almost 2 weeks over 1 year old.

You know I use Stanley as Orka's measuring yardstick :) Stanley's head is already big bold and beautiful. Your posts here and on FB have really helped us. Update what the vet says. Think I'll try to get a pic of the orchids for comparison. They are bright lily white.

You can tell I really need a full grown male Newf next door to allay all my curiosity about my boy!

Beau as you have read from the previous thread also suffered from this problem.

The problem was due to his indelicate way of thumping his rear end down on the floor when laying down and due to our non slip tiled floors he kept damaging this part of his anatomy.

The vet checked him for infections, etc and basically told us to spray his testicles with a mild disinfectant spray and to coat them in nappy rash cream. i used a lavender and chamomile barrier cream on them that I used for most things and also the gold bond powder when it arrived.

Poor baby ended up having a scrotal ablation in the end as the vet was concerned he would keep damaging himself and resulting infections would have been a future concern.

It looked exactly like your photo only Beaus scabs were large , I also trimmed hair away from them to avoid it sticking . Unfortunately he wouldn't lie on any cushioning so we had to be really careful of him.

It must be the British boys are well endowed problem perhaps?:devil3::devil3::devil3:

Makes me think of that song, "do you ears hand low" but not ears in this case. I hope his boy parts get better.

Do all the white spots start as scabs first?

If not, not sure if this could be, but look at my thread Vitiligo Also see the "Nose" thread linked from there. The vet and I thought Snuffles had skinned his nose, and lost the pigment, but it grew and more appeared
