Self Service Pet Wash - LOVE it!

So I just found out that some Petco locations have a self-service pet wash. It's $10 but they provide everything. After the 8th visit, the 9th is free. Another newfie friend told me about it because she and her husband use it after water training on their way home. They also use it during the winter months. I plan to use it when I have to go on a trip out of town with the dogs. I found a Petco in the area I'm going to be in that has the pet wash. :)

You can check their store locator to find a store near you that has this feature.

Aren't they the best! I've never used Petco, but others and just love 'em! We used to have to drive 2hrs to get to one though, so now we have our own tub. It is super convenient to have it in-house, but I wish someone else would clean it up after I use it!

reminds me of the coin operated dog washes I'd see in Australia - usually next to a car wash at a gas station ... always thought it was a totally brilliant idea :)

It is a brilliant idea...and I've often thought of opening one as a business by me cause I also travel to get to a self service, but can't figure out how to make it profitable by itself, and I'm thinking you can't! .....oh and please be careful if you guys use the plastic holders to keep the dogs in place, cause last time Zeke pushed so hard away from the tub that be broke it and he flew out of the tub....scared me to death and I haven't been back since, just make sure it's super strong.

There is a car wash here in Decatur that has a building in back with a self service dog wash. Snuffles old owner took him there once, but I don't think he did a good job. I once went to check it out and there was a dog being washed, but the dryer air flow to me was poor and would never dry a thick coated dog. I should see if they improved it. It has been over 5 years.

Our local pet supply store has a self service pet wash. They even have larger tubs that are closer to the floor for the bigger dogs. They have all of the supplies that you need. Last time we went we had cyclones of hair floating around the room during the drying process. I went out and asked the manager if they had a broom that I could use and I would sweep up the mess, and she told me absolutely not because they have an industrial size wet/dry vacuum and people that were paid to clean that area. It is awesome! :icon_bb:

We've got one here in town, and I LOVE it. I decided that I'm probably going to forgo getting any major grooming equipment (read: dryer) for now because it's just as easy going there. Got to try it out earlier this week. They provided shampoo, condition, and blueberry facial. I was worried she'd eat the facial, but I think she was more worried about the dryer. :p

I love the blueberry facial at Shaggys!! (I'm guessing that is where you were.) I bought some of their blueberry cologne since I loved the smell of the facial! We liked the setup at Shaggy's so much that I found out where they bought their tubs and got the exact same one...so if you are ever in the area feel free to bathe Ada here!

There's a self wash here in CO on almost every corner. They LOVE my guys, and always give me the low tubs. I have two of my favorites, because of water training I'm in there two to three times a week now. They range from $10-15 flat fee. In NJ, there was only ONE in the entire state that I found and it was $25 an hour! Now I take in both my boys, one lays at my feet while the other gets bathed. We're famous like a clown show when I get them out of the car. Everyone stops to smooch them even when I forewarn them they're wet from lake water:)

I've used the Petco self-serve wash as well as one in a locally owned pet boutique. It is great for us in the winter when it is too cold (for me anyway) to bathe him outside. I love that he is up where I can reach him without a lot of bending and stooping. I feel bad if there is someone waiting to use it after me because we all know washing a Newf is anything but speedy :) I found the dryers in both places wimpy.. but I can at least get him past being "dripping" and finish up at home with the real deal!

We have lots of self-washes here, but none at a PetCo - and they just opened a new one about a mile from us! They are great - esp the ones with the on-the-floor-tubs! Agree w/the wimpy dryers tho ... but sure is nice to leave the mess there!

My local car wash has a dog wash attached to it. It is pricey, so I go to the local "Bathe your pet" store. $15 for a wash and dry. My local Pet Inn only charges me $5 to wash Gabe!!!! Including drying...now that is the deal of the century. Unfortunately she is only open on certain weekends, so off to the others we go! Love them!!!!

NC must be behind the times because this is the first I've ever heard of a dog wash. As far as the dryer, I'm not above taking my own dryer in with me. :p
