I am so sorry for Scooby! In my beliefs you all will see this sweet gentleman again, and while on earth, you all gave such love to one another. It is obvious by your post he was very well-loved.

I'm really sorry for the pain your going through Terri. We love our animals so much it's horribly painful when we have to say goodbye. Take comfort in knowing that Scooby is no longer enduring the pain he was going through. He is free and he carries your love with him.

Oh Terri! How sad!!
I know what you mean about the tears in your heart. That's how I felt when Loopie crossed the bridge. I said never again. No more pets!
And yet, we heal. We remember the joy and love.
You did everything that you possibly could have & you're a wonderful person.
God Bless Scooby.

I'm just afraid of the future....is this what happens when we get old, only they're not pets, they're our friends and family?

Depressing.

A good reason not to fuss over the small stuff and enjoy every fleeting moment. I am sorry for your loss.

That is alot to bear, go easy on yourself for awhile. Your heart was broken each time and just when you think it is starting to heal another sweet pet leaves. You did what you could for poor Scooby, he knew he was loved and that's all we can ask for. Hug your own dogs, I mean really put your arms around that big Newfy and feel the power and gentle love, it is best to have short sleeves on so you can feel that soft newf hair on your arms, it does wonders for the soul!

Oh Terri I'm so sorry, about all of your losses. It is sad to think of the future and death, but I handle that by thinking that death is not the end, but a new pain-free beginning that will last for eternity. I need to believe that. I need to believe in Heaven.

Another quote from "The Prophet":

"And a woman spoke, saying, "Tell us of Pain."

And he said:

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;

And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.

And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.

Much of your pain is self-chosen.

It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.

Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:

For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,

And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears."

Scooby sounds like a wonderful Gent.
