Still have some research to do but the results are back and he had a spindle cell tumor that was removed from his chest that most likely will grow back at some point and require surgery again. Vet can't really predict how soon it will grow back. :( The mass on spine was benign and no cause for concern. We meet with them next week to discuss further treatment plans and have sutures removed. Rock is oblivious and just wants to get back into his usual routine of being spoiled with daily outings and such so that is what he will get. :) He has healed great from his surgery. Thanks again for all the good thoughts for our boy. He is so special to us!

I've never heard of it but thank you for sharing and making me aware. Prognosis (from what I'm reading) sounds pretty good. Well wishing & hugs to you and your babies

Not sure yet about prognosis but not even sure if they will be able to say when we meet next week. I think it really depends on how fast the tumor keeps growing back and putting Rock through multiple surgeries for removal. It is very important that he have a good quality of life with whatever time he has so we will see. Definitely there are worse canine cancers to have but he does still have a cancer diagnosis and that sucks. We will do right by him and I just love that dogs live in the moment and enjoy life. He obviously has no idea he is sick and is his usual lovable self. Unfortunately, we have dealt with a cancer diagnosis in a dog before. Maggie (rottie mix) had bladder cancer but lived another 2 years and in the end it was her hips that did her in so I guess you just never know. Thanks for checking in on him guys.:)
