RIP: Nancy Ochse (aka Casa Loma Newfoundlands)

The Newfie world lost a well-known breeder of brown newfoundlands to cancer yesterday morning. Nancy Ochse (Casa Loma Newfoundlands) had been sick for awhile, but put up the good fight for such a long time. RIP, Nancy.

I am grateful to have met Nancy....been friends with her and have one of her Newfs.

Oddly enough I first met Nancy when she was catering horse shows. I would always stop by and admire her Newfs who were usually sound asleep in the shade. Our mutual love of horses and dogs brought us together and we became friends. I spent many afternoons ringside cheering Zeus on at the local dog shows and taught Puddles to swim in Nancy's pool. I know Nancy is now with all of her beloved dogs at the bridge. Rest in Peace Nancy, you put up one hell of a fight!

I only spoke to Nancy on the phone a few times, but met a few of her Newfs. Hopefully they are all together now enjoying each other's company. God speed and God Bless Nancy!!

OUCH! I had never met Nancy, but one of my local Newf friends has one of her dogs. I have to admit being partial to Browns as well...
