I'm with Donna on this (as I frequently am). The assumption that change will be good is very dangerous and leads to lots of unintended consequences. Losing your job is change (generally not good), death of a child is change (not good) etc. etc. Again I reiterate (and agree I am a dog with a bone on this issue). If our representatives say the bill is too long to read, too complicated to understand (and they have) then this is not only not good it is frightening (sorry Ina but it is) on all kinds of levels and we need to put a stop to it and demand that they act like the conscientious responsible people they are supposed to be

I also believe time..will out..and that which you were so upset about..will turn out to be a trickle of flotsom jetsome. It does seem to keep the 'alert alert' genes up n focused..and thats good. ina n HB n Kesa

In govt, you're right, damn little that I find little cheery, BUT I have 13 dogs who love me all the time, a great husband, a good place to live and lots of other things that make me very happy so I can afford (emotionally) to be VERY annoyed with the federal govt. Not wild about state or local but they don't worry me in quite the same way.

The U.S. health system is the most costly in the world but comparative analyses consistently show the United States underperforms relative to other countries on most dimensions of performance. Part of the reason we consistently underpreform is access to universal health coverage for our uninsured so health outcomes consistently are not good. U.S. scores particularly poorly on its ability to promote healthy lives, and on the provision of care that is safe and coordinated, as well as accessible, efficient, and equitable.
