Quieter Dryer?

I've spent a lot of time researching dryers based on past posts. Looks like it comes down to a choice between the Master Blaster and the K9 III. Does anyone have an opinion as to which of these is the quietest?

No dryer is going to be quiet. I have the k9-III and it is loud. I cannot hear the phone when I am running it.

I've been rereading all of the past posts too and we just ended up ordering the ChallengAir Airmax 2-motor. One person said that it was a bit quieter and lighter since it's not metal casing. We also liked that it was Made in the U.S.A...the others didn't say. If it ever becomes "not enough", we will end up ordering the K9-III I think.

I have one and it's quieter than a vacuum, I only used one motor, this thing can blow some air.

The Master Blaster and the K-9 III are about equal in noise level. I have had both. None of the dryers are really quiet and that should not be a deciding factor. The Challenge Air may be a little quieter but it is more underpowered than the other dryers. The dryers are loud because the motors are big and blow a high volume of air. Also the Circuiteer Max is the same dryer as the K-9 III but has a hard hose.

I too am a fan of the ChallengAir Airmax two motor model. Another thing I like about it is that it pulls less amps than the other two dryers mentioned...It doesn't blow the circuit in the garage of my 35 year old house!

I have the Master Blaster and I don't find that it's really TOO loud. Of course I'm deaf in the right ear so maybe that's why.:roflmao:

It does a wonderful job though. I love it.

I have both the Master Blaster and the K9 III. They are truly equal in sound. Given that - get the K9. If you have thick-coated dogs you will appreciate this dryer. I like both - and if one had a Newf with less coat - the Master Blaster is fine. But The K9 is truly the work horse! I use the Master Blaster at shows as the size fits better in my packing totes and I like that it's on wheels. Makes for easier sharing at shows. My K9 though is the only dryer I use after a full bath.

I have the Master Blaster and the Laube Magnum 901.

Love the Laube for several reasons. It has a dial for adjustable air flow and is great for using on puppies, around the face and ears, and to dry hot spots without causing any discomfort (also works wonderful on the big Newfs). Comes with 2 nozzles which screw on vs attached with plastic clamps. Very compact, but not a whimpy dryer. 30,000 fpms, heavy duty ball-bearing motor, 3-yr limited warranty on motor, 2 stage HP motor, 10' flex hose, comes with wall mount and has feet for vertical or horizontal use, reusable/washable filter, room air temp (no heater). I also like this dryer because I can get right next to the skin with it and it Once I blow out the majority of the water, I can turn down the airflow and dry the undercoat a lot quicker. I will also use it without the nozzle and using a pin brush, I can dry those little "wavy" areas on the back and rump to make them lay nice and straight - good for showing. Best of all, it costs just under $200.00. It also comes with an attachable deshedding tool (similar to the Furminator, which I do not use). Much quieter than the Master Blaster!

This is where I purchased mine: http://www.thedogsupplyco.com/store...-Force-Variable-Speed-Dog-Dryer_40732715.html

I do not know these people, have no ties to them or this company (monetary or otherwise), so my opinion is purely based on satisfaction with the dryer.

BTW - because it's so compact, it makes a great dryer for traveling!

We have a CircuiteerII with the original cone shaped nozzle. It is very loud with both motors on but works great. I have purchased from the manufacturer a flat rectangular tip nozzle. This is much more quiet, than the original, but it takes longer to dry with but it does prevent the "Rasta Knots". I can now hear my wife when she is yelling at me! I don't know if that is a good thing yet. As long as it's "beer"! I also plug the dogs ears with cotton rounds before drying it seems to help.
