Are there any Newfie specific questions or things I should look for at a potential new grooming establishment when I do an on site visit?
We had a great groomer when we had our Bernese Mountain Dog, but she's a very busy, one woman show and tends to take months to get back to you about a future appointment and I'd like to find something a little more consistent.
I'm a little overly paranoid after hearing the horror stories of Newfies dying from overheating. Our Newfoundland is almost 6 months old and still has quite a bit of puppy fur (his adult fur is starting to grow on his back and some on his legs) and we've been able to give him baths and obviously brush him ourselves but I have a feeling the overall grooming will soon be out of my league.
Also, what's a normal price for a Newfoundland grooming (I'm in the Boston area)? I found one site that specifically said Newfoundlands start at $150. Is that what I should be expecting?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Advance apologies if there is already a post on this subject - I did search and couldn't find anything.
