Question on software for Camera

Since i moved i cannot find the disc for my Original Rebel. I had to get a new computer so i am softwareless. My camera when plugged into the computer is not recognized. So, i did the next best thing which i prefer not to, took the card out and put it into the card reader on the computer. I shoot in RAW mode, so finally was able to pull the pics into the RAW SHOOTER program that gad recommended here and i love. BUT i do not have a program to downsize them for posting on the web. I do have adobe 2 but that is so outdated. And the other thing is, where are the photos stored? Is it forever stored on RAW SHOOTER? It used to upload to the Canon software and then i would transfer photos to RAW SHOOTER then go to Adobe to downsize.
Not sure i explained myself right but is it ok to just keep uploading them to RAW SHOOTER??

What cable do i use to connect the two towers? thanx for any advice.

What it's probably not recognizing is the RAW files. I have that problem on this laptop too. It won't import them. If I shoot in jpeg, it's fine.

Fortunately I do have the disk. Just haven't uploaded the Canon programs here yet. But I think you can get the programs from the Canon site that Dianne posted.

On a mac RAW files are native, so no software is needed. I found that out when I went to load my canon software on the mac and it was not required. ;)

I'm no help, but thought I'd add that.

I hate this! I have done this before and it pisses me off. Is there any other name on the camera like EOS or anything? Have you emailed Canon? I am looking at ebay to see if anyone is selling it too.

Is this what it looks like? http://www.steves-digicams.com/came...l-slr/canon-eos-digital-rebel-slr-review.html

If so, then this might be important: (Note: The Canon EOS 300D, Kiss Digital and Digital Rebel are the same camera)

THEN, this would help?: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010037.asp

No go. After download it said it needed original software to continue. What these are are updates for the original software to work on Win 7 platform. It is not the program itself. :( Thanx for trying. I think i did call them and they said i have to buy the software now that i think about it. GRRRRRRR Well i will try to find a way to make this work.

If your camera is working fine.I would forget the Cannon software.Purchase PSE8
and use the card reader. All you will need to do is get the Cannon codex for RAW.Windows 7 or PHE will likely do that for you.PHE8 will store sort and catalog all you pictures it even has face recognition.
For just viewing .jpg and simple editing I like Windows Live Photo Gallery.
