It seems as though many of us have new puppies in the house! I thought it would be fun to compare notes, so to speak, and just learn from one another. Here are a few things I am interested in knowing about:
How old is your pup?
Is your pup crate trained?
Are they housebroken?
How long do they sleep at night?
Are you doing obedience school?
What kind of exercise do they get?
Any bad habits?
Any tricks?
How often do they eat?
How much do they eat?

I guess that is just a few things that come to mind. Feel free to add what you would like to know. Let's do this for puppies under a year. As soon as I learn how to post pictures we can start a puppy picture thread! Here are a few things about Mason...the good and bad! So please don't be afraid to post anything! We can all learn from each other!

Mason is 4 months old today.
He is crate trained although does not love his crate!
He is basically housebroken but does still occasionally have an accident. I blame it on the little boy bladder, not bad parenting!!!!
Mason will sleep 4 hours a night in his crate and then I let him out and put hi in the gated kitchen for an additional 2 hours. I long for the days when he will sleep a straight 6 hours or more!!
I plan to start him in obedience class after the gets his shots tomorrow.
The only exercise he gets right now is running around the backyard. He loves to chase a ball! I think he would like to go on walks which I guess I can do after his shots.
Mason is a terrible nipper! He is getting better but it becomes a problem sometimes! He is also a jumper which drives me crazy! I don't know how many times I have to say off to get him to understand. It is his most annoying trait and I hate it!!
No great tricks...sit, wait, down, easy(had to teach him that because he would take your finger of giving him a treat!)
He eats 3 times a day and acts like he is STARVING each time!!
I now give him 1 and 1/2 cups in the morning, 1 cup in the afternoon, and 1 and 1/2 cups at night. He is very thin and gobbles up the food without taking a breath.

He is a good boy and we adore him! He is busy, busy, busy!! I am going to give him a bath and then hopefully get some pictures. He is not still for very long!

Can't wait to hear about all the puppies!!

How old is your pup?
Magic is a bit over 12 weeks - Sat. she'll have been home 2 weeks

Is your pup crate trained?
Yes

Are they housebroken?
She is getting there - still a few accidents - we have so many people in this house that she gets taken out a lot and a nice routine has been set

How long do they sleep at night?
Right now it's lights out about 11:30, and she'll sleep 4-5 hrs, pee, then go back to sleep for about 2-3 hours

Are you doing obedience school?
She starts puppy kindy tonight

What kind of exercise do they get?
Plays with Lizzie; fetch in the backyard; just learning to walk on leash

Any bad habits?
I think we've curbed the teeth on skin thankfully, but she is still jumping up and we are working on that. Also, I've started trying to get her to carry something in her mouth so she won't carry the leash. Breaking her of water bowl swimming as well. :)

Any tricks?
No - she is walking pretty nicely on leash and can sit and down (we are clicker training). She's already better on a grooming table then Liz is!

How often do they eat?
3x day

How much do they eat?
About 1+ cup kibble 3x day, plus various vitamins/supplements

What kind of exercise do they get?
She plays with madigan in the yard all the time! Lots of wrestling! And she has playdates with my friends springer spaniel puppy which they both love!

Any bad habits?
She'll take your hand off for a buscuit! Gotta figure out how to fix that! Soon!

Any tricks?
Holding madigan down by the tags on her collar! Big stinker!

How often do they eat?
Twice a day.

How much do they eat?
1 and a half cups each time.

How old is your pup? Stella was 14 weeks on Monday

Is your pup crate trained? Yes, and was much easier about it than Chewie was.

Are they housebroken? Mostly. The accidents tend to happen when she forgets to use the bell, and I'm not paying close enough attention. But she's very close, despite a setback with a nasty UTI a couple of weeks ago.

How long do they sleep at night? She goes up about 10 with Brian, and I'll usually get her out one more time before I climb in bed around 1 (I have a book deadline in a week, so I've been up late the last month, which has actually worked out great for the housebreaking). Then she's up and out about 6:45.

Are you doing obedience school? Once she's done with her shots.

What kind of exercise do they get? Plays in the yard, with us, with Chewie (a lot with Chewie!).

Any bad habits? Yes. Stella is...a spaz. The nipping is getting better, but she's a great one to paw your face when you least expect it, and her jumping up on everything and everyone is probably her biggest issue. She has all the makings of a counter surfer already (and boy is she getting tall fast). We're working on it, but she's a bouncer in general, so it's going to take time.

Any tricks? She's good with "sit", understands "off" even though it sometimes takes a minute to sink in, and is pretty good on her recall already.

How often do they eat? 3x a day

How much do they eat? 1 cup per feeding

Here's Stella today with the big guy:

They loooove each other:heart:

Oh, Kristen, seriously, I can't BELIEVE how fast she's growing! When we got her, she was smaller than my (admittedly rather large) cat. That is soooo not the case now. 12.6 pounds at her first visit, and when I weighed her today, she weighs 26 lbs!! Not only that, but she is a leggy, lean mean bouncing machine. And her paws are...big. I'm thinking she will not be quite so petite after all:) As for Chewie, I've seen a huge change in him the past two months. No longer a baby, very much a big, beefy (in a good way, 'cause I swear he's lean under all that fur) dude of a dog. He's so awesome:)

How old is your pup? Malcolm turns 16 weeks old today! He is 43 pounds.

Is your pup crate trained? Sure? He hates it, but will settle quickly.

Are they housebroken? Big fat NO. He'll be "potty-trained" for 3 days in a row, and then act like he's never heard of the concept. Plus I swear he leaks pee in his sleep, his crate tray is almost always a little sticky. He's much harder than River.

How long do they sleep at night? 11-4 or 5 in the crate, then goes out and stays in the kitchen quietly until we get up (6 am on weekdays, 9 on sundays)

Are you doing obedience school? We start May 2nd, only because the earlier classes were full.

What kind of exercise do they get? Playing with River, jumping on River, trying to still fit in the cat door, following River around, stealing River's toys, and sending River off on walks (he walks to the corner and back with my husband while River and I continue on).

Any bad habits? Mouthing, but lightly. Putting his paws up on the counter. Putting his mouth on everything. Pestering River to death. Being too cute.

Any tricks? Sit, down, stay, and wait. Yesterday we taught "leave it", and he knows off and "paw". We're working on "come"

How often do they eat? 3 times per day

How much do they eat? 2 cups/time plus training treats.

Love hearing about everyone's puppy journey!

How old is your pup? Coco is now 5 months old we have had her since she was 7weeks (17th December)

Is your pup crate trained? she doesnt really use the crate, she's not a big fan of it.

Are they housebroken? yes, she has been for about 6 weeks now. She took a while to get there. Now she kindly lets you know she wants out with a Gruff every few seconds at the door that will slowly get louder until you let her out.

How long do they sleep at night? she sleeps from about 9:00pm gets let out about 11:00 when we go to bed and then generally sleeps through until 06:00. But the sleepless nights dont seem that long ago. i dont think we have recovered yet.lol

Are you doing obedience school? no, I dont think we will as she seems to take to commands pretty well and gets well socialised so all seems fine at the moment

What kind of exercise do they get? we try and walk once or twice a day for about 1/2 hour each time. Last one at 8:00 pm. Although the last couple of weeks we have only done one in the evening becuse its warmed up quite a bit.

Any bad habits? a few, lol. master at counter surfing and will nip bite a lot if you let her!. likes to pinch things if we're not paying her enough attention and run off with it, so you have to get it back from her and usually end up with a comedy run around the dining table. She also likes to tease our rabbit, the rabbit has an oped pen and coco will stand there barking at her, coco even got stuck on the pen fence! trying to play

Any tricks? she sits on command, stays, lay downs, brings things back (some times) gives paw and kisses.

How often do they eat? 3 times a day, morning, mid day and evening

How much do they eat? about 1 to 1 1/2 cups each time. Some times less sometimes more. She's not an over eater and will eat just enough. She weighed 58lb 2 weeks ago so average weight.

How old is your pup? Darwin is 51 weeks today. Not quite a puppy. But under a year.
Is your pup crate trained? Absolutely. He is in there any time we go out. He sleeps in the large master bathroom at night.

Are they housebroken? Yup. He hasn't had an accident in months.

How long do they sleep at night? Yup. He sleeps from 10-7 peacefully.

Are you doing obedience school? We did, but did not find it very helpful because he was much larger than the other puppies.

What kind of exercise do they get? We wall around the block four times a day. We also take him to the dog park for 30-40 minutes every day.

Any bad habits? He goes in his crate for most meals--but if I fail to clean up, he bolts under the table--chairs a-flying as he does. He also walks pretty nicely unless there's another person walking, in which case all manners and training go out the window.

Any tricks? Sit, down, dance, roll over, wait (at the top and bottom of stairs), speak, hush, take it, leave it, and off. Cut it out is also kind of a universal--"I don't like what you're doing," and he stops immediately.

How often do they eat? Twice a day.

How much do they eat? 2.5 C Orijen 6 fish at each meal.

Frankie is 11 mos old, so I guess I can play. LOL

How old is your pup? 11 mos

Is your pup crate trained? sorta

Are they housebroken? Yes, finally!

How long do they sleep at night? about 7 hrs

Are you doing obedience school? Yes...CGC class now, on to Novice Obedience next.

What kind of exercise do they get? Swim, run, play most of the day with a lot of our other dogs. Plus a couple of leash walks (training) a day.

Any bad habits? Talks...a lot. Counter surfs. Wants to go out at 1:30 am.

Any tricks? Normal stuff.

How often do they eat? 3x a day

How much do they eat? 5 1/2 cups a day

I guess that is just a few things that come to mind. Feel free to add what you would like to know. Let's do this for puppies under a year.

Frankie is now as tall as Cole, yet is about half the width in the torso. He has a huge head, great bone, and weighs about 130ish. But, he's very slender under all that coat. We had to up his food last week because he was actually bony. Now, we're readjusting downward again. Growth spurts come and go! I expect he'll be a big boy.

How old is your pup? Hershey Bear is 9 months old and about 95 lbs

Is your pup crate trained? Yes...she loves her night nights!

Are they housebroken? Yes, officially house trained by 4months.

How long do they sleep at night? 7-8 hours

Are you doing obedience school? We have a trainer that comes to the house. This works right now with my crazy schedule...He even supplies other dogs to work with us.

What kind of exercise do they get? Playing in the yard...and 3 walks a day for about 30 minutes. She also goes to daycare once a week.

Any bad habits? Mouthing (getting better), jumping up when excited, licking everyone she meets, putting everything in her mouth and chewing it, and selective hearing when distracted. Oh, and she's a night owl like me...bedtime is at 2am.

Any tricks? She gives paw and can do all basic commands.

How often do they eat? 2 times per day

How much do they eat? 1 1/2 to 2 cups per meal with fruits and veggies. Also, treats with training and a cookie with peanut butter at bedtime.

How old is your pup?
7 months, 3 weeks old.

Is your pup crate trained?
Yes, he was crate trained when I brought him home. He had already started his crate training at his breeder's home. My first night home with him, he slept in his crate for 6 hours straight through, I slept by his side for the first 4 nights.
Night #2, he slept 5 hours straight through, thereafter 6 + hours a night, no accidents. I never had to get up with him in the middle of the night, ever.
I love my breeder. :)

Are they housebroken?
Again, he started his housebreaking at the breeders, so he was housebroken
after the first month home. That's not to say he didn't have occasional accidents, though.:bear:

How long do they sleep at night?
He goes to bed at 11 PM and sleeps til 6 AM.

Are you doing obedience school?

Yes, Rally, Obedience, Conformation and beginning Agility (floor work). He LOVES the tunnels so much, that he cheats and tries to re-enter them from the exit. I have to be fast to make sure he doesn't cheat and go back in the exit.

What kind of exercise do they get?
Daily walk, and playtime. If it ever gets warm here, swimming. We are expecting snow tonight. :(

Any bad habits?
OMG, yes. He is very high energy, he loves to eat paper-toilet paper, paper towels, napkins and mail. I don't mind so much if he wants to eat the mail.

Any tricks?
He spins, twirls (spin in the opposite direction), shakes, backs up, and does all of the various obedience commands. He will 'take', 'hold' & 'give' a bumper or toy, and he likes to trade the mail he grabs for treats. :smashy:

How often do they eat?
Twice daily, morning and evening.

How much do they eat?
5 cups a day.

Moby is very tall, he has already surpassed all of our Newfs in height-he is all legs. He will probably fill out slowly, so he'll look like a Newf at around 4 years old. He weighs 100 pounds and is skinny, skinny, skinny! He doesn't have much coat, but has the sweetest face ever (he looks like a girl).

I took these pics last week, this is a bad pic, but you can see he is taller than Tucker, already.

My girly-man
