Hi everyone!

Just wanted to reach out to anyone who lives/vacations in or around Provincetown, RI. My husband and I and our two fur kids will be making the trek from Toronto, Canada to Provincetown, RI for a week at the end of August. Yes, I know, we are planning WAY in advance – but forgive me, it snowed in Toronto this morning and we desperately need something to look forward to.

Bailey is our Berner and Buford (name pending, named after Bailey's dad) will be our new Newf boy who will be arriving in a few weeks - feels like an eternity. The entire gang will pack it up and head down to Cape Cod for a week.

In our research, we've read that it is a very dog-friendly place. We were wondering if anyone knows of any good off leash parks or dog friendly places to eat/hang out in the area? Also, if anyone is up for a play date we would be very happy to arrange and meet up!

Any feedback/info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

I'm a little confused about whether you'll be in Providence RI or Provincetown, MA (Cape Cod.) If you're on the Cape, P-Town has a pretty nice little dog park with friendly locals. Lots of unofficial off-leash areas aren't advertized but pre/post Summer season there are great walking trails around the marshes. Most State beaches aren't open until May 15th. If you're interested in meeting up...Lu would love to show you some of her favorite spots! I'm on the upper Cape but a trip to the outer Cape beaches is always a hit with my pups.

PS: My friend owns a cottage on the ocean with a dock for diving. I live very close (1500 ft) from a great fresh water pond. Clean, spring fed and sandy bottomed with a nice playground and picnic area for association residents. You'd be welcome to stop by and give the dogs a taste of water training and/or a dip in the pond to rinse off that salt water.

EEEEk!!!!! You are so right, I meant PROVINCETOWN, MA!!! Sorry!

Thanks so much for writing back! It would be wonderful to meet up! Would also be great for Lu to show Bailey that the water is NOT SO SCARY. She goes in about knee deep and then runs out. We were really hoping that she might swim as it is such wonderful low impact exercise for them and it's supposed to be great for developing their muscles.

I will add you as a friend so we can stay in touch! If I can figure out how to do that...
