When my uncle was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer, all the neices and nephews got together and collected photos of him with us at various family events. My creative cousin made a lovely scrapbook. Everyone wrote a note about how important he had been in our lives. On days when he was unable to get out of bed we would sit with him and share our memories. He found it comforting to know he had made a difference in our lives.
