Prayers for us (Isabella) too, please.

I just dropped Belle off at the Vet’s office. She has been limping on her left-rear leg for a little over a week. We thought she was getting better, but she hasn’t. I took her to the Vet last night, and asked about a possible torn ACL. He took her out for a little walk, just to watch her. He said that when he brought her back in, and tried to check the movement on her knee, that it popped, like it was out of the joint. He said that with them being fully awake “tensed” up, that he would not be able to check to see if the ACL was torn. He is going to give her a mild sedative this morning, check the ACL, and X-Ray her leg. I watched her walk this morning, and she is limping differently. More like her leg is sore from getting that knee put back into place. I’m hoping that’s what it was.

I should know something later on this morning.

I just called the Vet's office and talke to the nurse. The doctor is actually still working with Belle, but he said that it is NOT a torn ACL!! Thank God for that. He did say, however that there appears to be some damage to the knee. He is going to call me later on to fill me in on what's going on. So, thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. Please keep them coming.

Oh no, I hope its nothing that a few days of rest can't cure. Make sure he checks her hips as well, as it can throw off the knees etc.

Good thoughts coming to Belle!

Thanks Susan, I will. Our vet is very thorough, but I will definitely ask him when he calls. When I talked to the nurse, he was actually still working with Belle, taking the x-ray and stuff. Now, I'm just hoping that time will heal it. I really pray that she doesn't need surgery. I will post again as soon as Mike calls me.

Poor Belle...she is such a GOOD GIRL....that knee thing is tricky,,,,The knee cap, or patella, fits into the traclear ridge...If I am not mistaken, they check it by forcing it out to one side or the other, to see if it snaps back. If it does, all is well, but in the process it can cause a sore knee.. I am not real clear on the cruciate, as I have never had to deal with that...

Good thoughts coming from here. We were just at the Vet office yesterday for the same issue. After hip, spine, and knee x-rays, no tear could be found.
Hope Belle is feeling better soon.
