Awww... my daughter is playing 'dolly'

Where did she get 'that' dolly???

Well, one of pigs had babies recently and all was well...

When I returned from my trip one looked 'light' and indeed, he has an infection... perhaps a tooth, and is not sucking well.. so, He's livin the 'high life' for now....
Introducing Batty.... not Betty ... as in 'bat'

So sweet and hope the warm and tender care brings Batty up to good health. Darn good teaching time for empathy. :) ina n HB n Kesa

Absolutely adorable. Pigs are wonderful and so it your little girl. My neighbor used to raise pigs. He quit after I made friends with a little who would run to the fence for nose scratches when they heard my car at the top of the street. Really leaned on him about taking them to slaughter. That's inconsistent I know, I buy meat in the store. Batty is just as cute as can be. Hope you can keep him.

Why you hypocrite!!!! lol..

I'm thinkin Batty is feelin pretty secure at this point ;) IF he ever leaves this farm I'll be surprised.... Did you see the pics of my pigs "pool"??? It was Lollys when He was little. It's hard to eat 'some' of them... but I give them a REAL life while they are with us, so it's afair ballance.

You're right it's very hypocritical and cowardly. If I thought about it for too long I would definitely give up meat but I know my husband never would. He was raised on a farm, did the slaughter and one time his father killed Ron's pet rooster for dinner. He did NOT eat any of that.

That is what is really important! I'm not a huge meat-eater, but could never give it up. As hard as it is to raise them and butcher them, it is a much better life for them than factory raised meat!

It's nice to be have the space to keep some as pets though! :)

I love pigs! Cute pictures! Thank you for being a loving and ethical pig keeper. I do eat meat, including pork, but I am making it a vision to eat only meat and eggs that are cared for ethically.

You go!! There are alot of Homesteaders out there. Do a google search in your area "meat for sale/ free range/ " you'll find a local supplier. And probably with a better price option than the grocery store.

BTW... listen up people... white and brown eggs...no difference!! Zero!!! Stop paying extra!!
