Mom update.. We saw the 2 cancer specialists.. What they had to say was somewhat different than her family Doctor. Some of that may come from my request to go easy but .. not what I heard earlier from him. The Doctors at the cancer centre were fabulous.. very compassionate and respectful.. talked in terms you could understand. According to them she does indeed have lung cancer. They are aware of the tumor on her lung but are not certain if it has spread elsewhere. They gave her options that were pretty straight forward. She can ignore it.. and go on with her life until symptoms... did not put a time frame on it. Or she can have a scan that will tell them if it has spread to other parts of her body or if it is just localized. If localized they could do a short term concentrated radiation treatment on the tumor. If it has spread.. no treatment according to her wishes. So.. boils down to does she want to know or just carry on. I believe she will decide to have the pet scan .. Whatever her decision we will all support. It is her body and life. Nothing definitive.. My brother was there with me.. I was glad... My sister could not be because her news regarding my brother in law was far worse. She handled everything well today. Thank yo for all your prayers and positive thoughts. The battle goes on.
