Newfies and Christmas tree farm on TV

Did anybody see( on RFD channel, Directv 345) the Newfies pulling Christmas trees on carts at a Christmas tree farm in Boone, Indiana? It was on Christmas day and several people were interviewed, including Robin, who had a Landseer rescue. Were any NN Newfies?

Hi Joy!

This was at the Dull's Tree farm where we (SCNC) are guests of Tom & Kerry Dull. We started doing this about 8 years ago, and it has grown tremendously. We work with our Newfoundlands to pull Christmas Trees in from the fields to help raise funds for Newfs in need of Rescue. This year it was great to be included in the footage on a National Program featuring the Dull's Tree Farm. My boy Coast was one of the working Newfs pulling in trees and we had multiple Newfs there to meet and greet. Many of our previously rescued Newfs come and see us at this event, and the most asked question of the Dull's is 'when are the dogs going to be here?'. This year there were cars parked along the road, it was so busy.

I'm currently working on getting some of the photos together, so hopefully we'll have some on the web next weekend.

Glad you got to see the program, the tree pull really is a great event. We have a standing date with the Dull's the first Sunday in Dec.

We were there, it is really a nice event. Sully doesn't get a chance to be around that many people let alone Newfs, so it was great for him.

Wish I had seen it. My MIL's sister saw it on TV and she was really impressed, she's sorta a Newfie Auntie to ours. She was amazed that they would do that, she really enjoyed it.

The film crew were from AgDay/US Farm Report and the special was called "Christmas in the Country." You can see it on their website at: http://www.agweb.com/USFR/default.aspx

The program is an hour and there is a quick picture early on, but the tree pull portion with the Newfs start at about 29:30 into the video til about 32:30 so its a short segment but pretty cool. It also shows Kelly Davis with his Newf Joe pulling his sleigh that he made himself. Everything from cutting the tree to bending the wood, as he is a master woodcrafter and he did that beautiful work of art himself. Of course the kids don't care but they love it!

Bumping this thread up as the pull takes place on Sunday! Our girl won't be pulling (too young) but she will be meeting and greeting. Hope some of you are there!

We were there as a meet and greeter. We had our grand daughter with us so we did not stay the whole time, plus Mike can't take much cold. It was very nice, but I believe due to the weather there was not as many people there early as there was last year.
