Newf Swag - Newf Gift Tags needed

Hello!! Has been awhile since I have posted last, I hope everyone finds themselves well on this Friday March morning :)

My fiance Eric and I are getting married this year in October. As our dogs are such an important part of our lives, and the reason we had even met, we have decided that as part of our wedding favours we will be making a donation to our local Newf Rescue. ( Newf Friends:) )Sooo.... we will be giving our guests candied apples,(ties in with my whole fall theme) and I would like to attach a newf tag to the apple explaining a donation has been made and a little bit about why we decided to make this donation. So I don't want huuuuge gift tags, but a decent size to put at least a couple of sentences on there. Does anyone have any idea where I can find these!? I will buy them and ship them to me... Not sure if anyone on here can make these?? I'm also open to making them myself but I am a lost cause when it comes to crafty stuff like this so I have no idea how I would even go about doing that. If anyone has some tips and can help me out in making them I would appreciate that very much as well!!

Thanks for reading and for any replies :)

I found this on Etsy; her shop seems to have a wide variety; I've looked forever for a Cricut dog cartridge so I could do Newfie cut-outs, that would be cute as a tag!

You could do a plain brown tag, maybe tied with a burlap ribbon, and have some sort of saying about how Newfs are known to be devoted, loyal and generous in love and since they've given so much to you, you've given XX for them.

You could also do yourself with 8 X 10 photo paper....multiply the picture to make numerous pictures (like in your avatar) do the same with whatever you want to say on the opposite side of photo paper, then cut and use a hole punch and attach some type of ribbon...it will take a little of trial and error but I'm sure you'll do a great job if you so choose and what a wonderful idea.

Love fall weddings!! What a fun project!!!

A picture says a thousand words. You could print an individual photo of one of Newf Friend's rescue dogs on a tag and then say something like, "We made a donation to Newf Friends Rescue, in your name, to help a dog like ______". (include the dog's name so it's more personal and connecting for the guest). I don't think you have to explain why; it should be obvious, but you could say something short like, "Helping animals in need is our passion".

Or use a different photo of a different dog on the tags. Say 6 photos split between the number of tags.

You can buy blank tags at an office supply and print out labels to stick on them.

These are all great ideas..!! I didn't even think of printing actual pictures! what I had envisioned was a tag in the shape of a black newf on one side and then blank on the other side so we could type/write a message! Using pictures is a great idea.. will definitely consider this! I'm not very computer orientated so I dont know what VistaPrint is but I will look into that. Printing them on 8X10 seems fairly straight forward for me as well, lol . Thanks everyone for all the ideas/replies !

I wonder if maybe she would do custom tags in the shape of a newf? hmmmmm

I love the newf shape idea....you could download a sihlouette and cut into plastic form so you could use a razor knife to outline accordingly. Less on the 8 x10 paper but still that would be lovely!!

Congrats on your engagement! Love the Newf tags and I have to second Dawn's sihlouette idea. There was a sihlouette artist that visited our local specialty pet store last weekend (http://www.silhouette-man.com/) and we took Willis to get his done. It turned out so great! I'll have to upload it later to show you once I get them scanned in. You could always send in photos of your boys and have him create them if you aren't as crafty. Although I don't think they are that tough to create, I loved the cool little details, like the eyelashes and flews and ears, that were cut in the one we had done.

A quick idea to add to all the above suggestions, Use business card paper in Microsoft office and in the business card template, enter what you would like to say and scan pictures or silhouette etc. and when you print them out just tear apart the cards, use your hole punch and add ribbon. I use business card paper to make Christmas gift tags and such,

Another idea that might work, and it's pretty easy...

For our wedding I tied tags to little jars of maple syrup for place cards. I made the tags myself.

I bought a tag cutter from Michaels for about $10. It's just a plain rectangular tag with a tab on the end. You can punch a hole in the tab to tie a ribbon through it and attach to whatever you want. I cut the tags from heavy brown craft paper so they hold up really well and don't rip.

You could make those tags (it took me about 30 minutes to make 200 of them). Then you could either:

A: Print clear labels on a laser printer with a newf and the words, and stick them on
B: Get a newfie rubber stamp and stamp one side, then put words on the other (either hand written or printed on clear labels.

I found these stamps with a quick search: http://www.dogstampsplus.com/Newfoundland_Page.htm

Good luck!

It lost a little bit of detail when being scanned, but here's one of the sihlouettes:

This is really nice!! Love the eyelashes :)

Thank you very much everyone for all the suggestions!! I really appreciate it, so many good ways of going about making the tags.

I used my own photos, then cut them out using siccors with decrotative edges (craft siccors) then punched a whole for ribbon. Minimal cost great impact. You can also glue colored construction paper on the back and then write of that.
