So our four kids are out of the house...you would think I need to do a lot less laundry but today I did 3 loads of Newf towels, bedding, crate blankets, drool cloths, bibs and toys

Well at least they don't want to borrow the car :!rolling:

But they're worth it, right??? I would never have put up with the mess from my daughter, but don't think twice about the girls' messes. The toys all over the place, chewed up cardboard, blankets in a twist on the floor, the blanket on the sofa falling off, and so on. Tis the price we pay for the luv  of our goofy :goofy: newfies!!
:LMAO: :roflmao:

Dont get me started on kids with cars. So far my 17 yr old cost me:

1 totaled car (car was paid for) 1200.00 – old car
1 car hit in parking lot 1300.00 cash out of pocket – we have a 1000.00 deductable and I didn’t want my rates to go up
3 speeding tickets 250.00
1 car towed for parking violation 160.00 Last month
1 parking ticket 150.00
Court ordered Drivers Ed again - 100
1 truck – left the lights on yesterday morning in the school lot - lights on – wont start. Had to wait until Laura got home last night ar 12:30am to go jump it.

Cost me over 3000.00 so far! He was paying my until he broke his leg and had to quit working. Great kid, love him dearly.

washing throw rugs today plus I use baby diapers (wet under my foot to mop up muddy paw marks on tile) I am amazed at my washer holding up to 3 8x10 cotten rugs and several 3x5's plus drying towels from the rain. Never seems to end. love my "super capacity" washer (dryer isn't as great :D)

I can relate. Our power bill has gone up significantly in the 3 mos. since we got Larry (of course all worth it). He had walking dandruff when we got him and I became a clean freak. All Blankets, toys, stuffies etc. were/are washed in hot water on regular basis. What does everyone use in their washing machine. Right now I am avoiding detergent on his stuff, but I am thinking Costco size baking soda????

I wash all the dog blankets (that cover the furniture) once every three days. And towels every day. Wet towels are the norm around here!

We use regular detergent...and bleach...and fabric softener. I do have a front loading machine, so use MUCH less of the above than in a regular washer. But then again.....it uses much less water too.

I always double rinse.

Well this is a great subject, our washer just gave out,Blankets, towels ,throws etc was just too much for the old gal.Her for zest clean and scrubbing bubbles finally gave way and she said enough.!!!! We sent her to the RecyleBridge where one day hopefully she will be the Maytag of her dreams.Guess the mud and vinegar were to much for her.We replaced her with a front loader.Yahoooooo!!! I have always loved doing laundry, guess my gang knew that when they picked us huh???lol:allg069::allg069::D

The washer is my best friend and home based copilot!! REALLY hear what you all are saying ! Remember the old cliche, Indys Dad, "Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids!!" LOL

You know, I haven't yet noticed that I'm actually doing more laundry, and that's only because I still have 4 messy kids living at home, so laundry is always bountiful.

However the amount of fur I pull of my lint trap from my dryer is impressive!

You guys don't know how bad I would love to have a front loading washer, but the hubby's in the mind "If aint' broke, don't fix it" mode. I know that's terrible of me to say, I'm just promoting this disposable world. However, we'd be saving water! That's got to count for something!

I had 2 muddy dogs yesterday and both of them got baths. That equals 6 towels, the rug in the bathroom, and at the back door, the rags used to clean up the bathroom and thats not including the drool towels used during the day. And, since it was Saturday, The bedding as well. Just like having two teenagers living at home......except I'd have the teenagers doing their own laundry. :D

Our not so old and thankfully still under warranty washing machine just gave out and we also replaced it with a front loader. However; dog blankets, beds etc Allen won't let me put in the new one because he doesn't want it to get messed up. So I'm still running to the laundrymat with that stuff.:icon_stupid:
