I haven't received any e-mails from newf-l for the last couple of day's. Has anyone else experienced this?

I tried to rejoin again, as I have been bumped before and nothing comes through.

I think everyone is involved in a lively discussion on the NCA-DL list right now. I've never had so many messages from that list until the last few days. Interesting topic too.

I tried resubscribing with 2 different email addresses and heard nothing back from the automated response you normally get. I am beginning to think there's a problem with the server but have no idea how to pursue it.

It's the Online Whelping Box and its turning into a three ring circus...basically it's a list of NCA Breeders ( and some folks want to restrict this to people already on the NCA Breeders List ) to list online litters available for sale.

My heartburn with this is that a puppy is NOT always the best choice. The NCA Board, in it's infinite wisdom, failed to carry a motion to allow breeders to list older dogs as well as puppies on the OWB and this is something I have a definite issue with.

If a 1-800 number were set up with volunters manning the number every so often, the fact that we would be restricted from referring people to breeders ONLY with puppies and not educate the callers that there are perfectly wonderful Newfs out there that are old enough NOT to destroy your house through teething and pee all over your carpet...well, sorry to say, I could not in all honesty volunteer for that "duty".

I feel too strongly towards Rescue and also placement of older puppies and dogs in appropriate homes....they should NOT be excluded.

That was only 1 suggestion. Many do not want the OWB at all. Some want only those os the Breeder's list to be allowed to list. Some wat to allow none listed breeders but with certain limitations.

There is also a very hot related discussion on how to reach people looking for a puppy so they are going to these BYB listed in these 'puppy for sale' website.

I know I got spanked for my comments on it.

Many do not like the iseas of breeding 'working' qualities only. There are a few breeders who tend to this and their dogs tend not to look like a newfoundland should. This has been a on going issue for a long time.

What my question is: What does putting 1 title on dog you've bred prove? And it doesn't have to be a dog you own and can be one of you buyers put the title on the dog. The title must and AKC, NCA or CKC (Canadian Kennel Club, there is another CKC) and is can be a championship, working or performance title. CGC is not accpetable and TDI is not issed through these organizations.
