New type of water rescue ?

We recently moved to a new place, and the smoke alarm is easily set off by the shower steam (bad planning). When it squeaks Maya gets very upset and worried.. and hangs around the bathroom to see if I'm okay. But recently, she couldn't stand the worry and she jumped through the curtains into the shower with me! It was quite a shock to share a very small shower with a 125 pound girl. She tried to push me out of the shower with her nose, and wasn't happy until we were both safe on dry land - then she did her happy dance
People are always asking me if I think she'd protect me if I were in danger- the answer is definitely yes.

That's strange actually,I test my smoke alarm every week and Merlin goes mad - making sure he can find us all.He also goes mad when the phone rings and comes to "tell us".Certain songs sen him wild too !

Yeay. Good rescue. I think I'd move the alarm. These days we don't have a rescue girl, but Ursa (at the bridge) used to come wake me up when the alarms would start to beep at 3 in the morning.

I second the 'move alarms' suggestion..life is too full of things we'll not be able to deal with easily..that one job..can be. ina n HB n Kesa

Just to make you feel better- I checked into a motel in Indianapolis one day and promptly climbed into the shower. Midway through the alarm goes off. Natuarally I climbed out and seeing no problem, hearing nothing in the hall (comotion etc.) called the front desk with the alarm still screaming in the background. The minute the clerk answered she said- I'll be right down to shut it off. Seems yours is like that one. Why they didn't put in a permanent fix I don't know but neither I nor any members of my co. (Defense Finance and Accounting Service) ever stayed there again. Thinking you may have to grab clothing and run out soaking wet, not a pleasant feeling- probably not for those you encounter either
