New Therapy Dog

Chumley passed his therapy dog test on Sunday. I can't really get excited. His sidekick, Sully, passed away yesterday four weeks from his lymphoma diagnosis. Kris and I met through our dogs. We took our dogs to obedience classes and walked our dogs together. We were so excited when our dogs passed their CGC together. It was Kris's goal to shoot for therapy dog for Sully. I was just along for the ride. We were training for therapy dog when Sully was diagnosed. He was too sick to go on so the instructor gave Kris a refund. Recently, the instructor told me she signed Chumley up for testing on Sunday so I just forged ahead. Our instructor made Kris an Honorary Therapy Dog certificate for Sully which I gave to her last night. She gave me a big hug, then we laughed and laughed because she knows I have "personal space issues."

Such a bitter sweet day. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Sully, knew how incredibly special he was. He will be forever missed and always remembered.

As for Mr. Chums, I am so proud of you bubba!! You, sir and your mama have come so far since that first time you met Millie and you lunged after her!!! HAHAHA!! Love and miss you Chumley! He is going to be a great therapy boy!

I saw this yesterday but I had such a lump in my throat over Sully, I could not find words. Still upset...he was way to young, very sad.
