Need recommendations for browsers for Windows...I'm a PC person, so no suggestions to switch to a Mac please. ;) I have Vista Business...plan on upgrading soon to Windows 7. IE sucks...tried firefox...not good either on most online apps with Vista.

Also need recommendations for a home page. I think part of the browsing issues could be resolved with getting rid of MSN as my home page too.

Goggle Chrome is very fast, but a lot of apps don't yet work on it (last I checked, which was when it was still in beta mode, so that may have changed). I use google for my home page, and have the google toolbar at the top (in IE). I don't fill my homepage with stuff, I only have a calendar, an on-going scrabble game I'm playing with my daughter, and sometimes will have sticky notes which I can place on the home page. Very simple and clean. You can try chrome and see how you like it. I should go back and see if they've dealt with the issues they had in beta...Don't know how well it will work in Win 7, but I'm also upgrading to 7 this week. IE has been a drag lately, I agree.

The latest version of IE sucks more than previous versions. I do web development work and am on the web pretty much all the time.
I'd say firefox is probably your best choice but you're having problems with it. I haven't been thrilled with Firefox since they upgrade to FF 3.
Google Chrome was fast, but very unreliable from my experience. There is aspects of it that make it pretty much useless for what I do.

I'm sorry, I don't have any real good suggestions. I use IE, for most things just because the majority of people I code for use it.

What are the major issues you are having with Firefox? Most of mine seem to be with Flash integration. Latest version of IE is a crash monster for me.

Safari is nice on the PC. Fast and reliable, but then again I have no problems with Firefox and like that as well. IE is a nightmare for me as I do some web design.

Well figured out part of the problem on a hunch. I'm using wireless on my laptop at home and the main station is on the second floor 12 ft up and about 60 ft. away, I'm on the first floor. My puter is on a desk right next to the cabinet where all of the electronics for our entertainment theater are hooked up and stored, and it works off of radio and infrared frequency communication. So I moved my puter, and bingo...better signal! I think the issue with Firefox was mostly with flash apps., and I'm sure the signal interference didn't help. So, uninstalled the 3.5. version, and installed the new Firefox 3.6 beta 2 version that just came out. Works like a charm! Thanks guys!

Just loaded Google Chrome last night because I was having so many issues with Facebook and everything else. Chrome has been pretty fast, better than IE. I used to use Firefox too.

Have you tried Opera? It's an open source platform web browser. I've used it as well as firefox and safari with no problems, but then I do no web design.

Glad it works Nancy. I have a "wired" internet for my desktop...and I sometimes use my laptop about 40' away down the hall through 3 closed doors, and both work fine on Firefox.

I won't even consider using IE anymore. Bleh.

To get me to try anything new on my PC is like pulling teeth, Trond wanted me to switch to Opera Browser and I said a big fat NO! Trond being the geek that he is installed Opera and made it impossible for me to use IE.. Oh I had a huge hissy fit! Had to use Opera and love it.. how I lived without it I don\t know. I use it on my cell phone also.
Anyway... just my experience.

IE = Internet Exploder. I hate IE and have always had issues with it. Grrrr... Have just heard of some interesting bugs in it lately.
