I'm finally feeling calm enough about to chat about Myra. I'm now fully gray and feel like I've aged about 10 yrs in the past few weeks. I want to say thanks to those that have helped me from the brink, I really appreciate it.

Probably about a month ago Myra got scared and ran into the kitchen and took a pretty good fall, about a week or so later she could not get up and walk. Vet came out and on his exam, he felt that she might have DM (Degenerative Mylopathy) I politely disagreed, he prescribed Tramadol & Prednisone and said if she has no reaction to the prednisone then more than likely she does have DM. I ordered a DNA test kit from OFA and mailed it off, still awaiting results. Well, 2/3 days later she's running in the yard, like she hasn't in 3 years. I called him and he was expecting a bad report and was delighfully surprised, so we started to lower the doses of prednisone, currently we are at 1/2 a pill a day. When he was at the house he mentioned a local PT rehab and I emailed them this morning in regards to an evaluation. Hopefully within the next week I will have more to go on but at least now I feel I can breathe.

Myra, stop scaring your Mum like that. Certainly that is not DM, thank goodness.
Glad to hear she is back to normal and sorry to hear about your hair!!!!!!!!!

Little update, the OFA DM DNA test came back clear :) we go to rehab for an evaluation on sat afternoon. Meanwhile, a friend gave me a flyer on thermal imaging...very interesting. Has anyone here done thermal imaging on either a horse or dog?
