Merrick and Zatara had company today

My grandpuppy Mr. Belvedere is spending the weekend with us. Here he is with ears a-flapping, Floyd-style.

Here is Zatara, chilling out in the back yard.

Zatara and Merrick rough-housing with each other. It's quite a scary sight but it's all in fun.

Mr. B, waiting for us to get back in the car so he can continue his joy ride.

Last week lightning struck the tree in our back yard. Here is the limb that broke off and fell on the garage. It later rolled off into the yard. Thank goodness the dogs were inside at the time!

Love Mr. B...those bassetts are such cute dogs. Glad to hear everyone was safe inside when that tree fell. What crazy weather!

:D Mr. B is so handsome - is he behaving himself on his visit, or is he showing major Bassetude?

Your sweet newfs are adorable too!

Oh, those are great pictures of your fur gang and your fur grandpuppy. Looks like they all had fun. Glad no one was hurt from the tree incident. Looks like our backyard from last year. That can be so scary.

Excellent pictures.. I see your Zatara will lie on the stones. Murphy tiptoes on them like a big sissy... he will only lie on the flagstones or deck..

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone.

Sandra, he has definitely had a bit of a "bassitude" (I love that word by the way! LOL) but has also been surprisingly well-behaved at times too. The worst thing is the howling and barking. I'm used to the newfs, who sit patiently outside by the door when they want to come into the hosue -- or they sometimes bap the back door with a paw. However, Mr. B carries on like it's the end of the world until we let him in. I don't like to give in to his whims but after a while I start getting concerned about the neighbors. At his own home he has a doggie door and can come and go as he pleases. Also, he was quite noisy the first night. Last night he didn't make much noise at all though.

Jennifer, neither one of the newfs seem to mind the rocks. As you can see by how they are kicked all over the place, they charge through them as if they were the softest of ground covers. :)
