There she is!! Thanks for posting these Joan! She had a BLAST at the National and LOVED all the attention!

I've been having computer problems so haven't gotten her webpage updated but am hoping to get to that next weekend. Annie Milliron posted some videos of her on facebook from the National with her tail going strong, and yes she went swimming this last Sat and Sun. Even after an hour in the lake, I had to drag her out and she wasn't the least bit tired either night! I think we have a speed racer on our hands, if we can just get her stronger in the rear. Her therapist is coming up with new things to work on everyday so we still have hope, but her attitude does not waver. :)

Thanks so much Susan, for the update. What is her prognosis? Will she have to use a cart for the rest of her life? Or will she just get stronger and have no need for that?

We're still charting unknown territory so its uncertain how far Maddie can go but we're working hard to give her every opportunity we can. She can walk without her cart, just not very efficient or pretty so long distances are difficult. The cart gives her freedom as does swimming so we are trying to keep that going as much as possible. Besides building strength and hopefully better form.

Currently she is being examined by a DVM Chiropractor who does acupuncture and works with a lot of horses so we are anxious to get his input. He will work closely with her therapist and see where we can work on building. She is already showing signs of hopping up steps so we are encouraged! We know its a long road but that's okay!
