Lucy thinks I have alzheimers :-)

So, we've had ALOT of snow here in Massachusetts the past few weeks. I'm loving it and so is Lucy but I can't possibly take her out to play in the snow as much as she wants to so I've been letting her out on the deck to play. I let her out the other day and continued doing the laundry. She came to the door and I let her in about 30 minutes later. She went to the other room and took a nap while I continued with the house work. Well, about a hour later I thought oh, Lucy has been outside for a while, I need to make her come in, completely forgetting I already had. I freaked out when I looked out on to the deck and didn't see her. I went out in my socks yelling for her and looking over the side to see if there were any body prints in the snow below. I was totally beside myself. As I was walking back into the house so that I could go to the backyard, there is Lucy peaking around the corner into the kitchen looking at me like I'm a nut job. If she could have shaken her head and said ARE YOU SERIOUS she probably would have. So, the moral of this story is: I just can't do housework anymore.

If you have alzheimers, you are not alone. I've done the same thing, especially with the little ankle biters that can go outside by themselves.

Sounds like something I would do too!

I know the freak out feeling when you can't find them. Kona goes into the bathrooms occasionally and closes the door and can't get out. I can't find her and go from room to room and looking outside calling getting frantic. I wonder did I let her out... did she get out of the yard? Meanwhile she is quietly waiting for me to find her. She doesn't seem to minds getting stuck, sometimes I think she likes having some "alone" time.

I've done it too. I just did it with Addie the other night. LOL She was asleep on the sofa and I didn't see her. She finally popped her head up like "what's your problem?"

We have so many people coming and going here, one will let the dogs in, and I'll go running around looking for them, only to find them curled up by the wood stove. Not Alzheimer's here, nooo, more like "Nutjobbers".
