Well Raven is halfway through her immunotherapy treatment.

However she is super itchy and going back to the vets tomorrow after l finish my shift.

Her ears are bad again and am treating her with zymox.

Has anyone else who's done the immunotherapy had this happen.dont really want her permanently on drugs but worried it may be our only option

Wish I had some good advice, but I'm still trying to figure out why Ella keeps getting ear infections and licking her paws with no success. I know Raven has been struggling for some time with some allergy symptoms too and I really hope she feels better soon. It is so hard to see them uncomfortable.

My guy had itchy ears and it ended up being an allergy to chicken and wheat. I removed those and gave him Prozyme powder in his food. It's a digestive enzyme and I swear, if I ran out of it his ears would flare up.

She is on immunotherapy treatment after doing extensive allergy tests with minimal results.she is on osurnia for her ears and then we are going to work on any itching as her ear swabs came back with bacterial and fungal infection.

I am freezing batches of kefir for her to add to her raw diet and she has acv (the mother type) added to her water plus coconut (cold pressed) as well.l make sure because she is on a raw diet that she has seaweed powder so she is getting all the extra minerals to boost her immune system.

One day l will have an easy newf but at least she keeps me researching holistic treatments

I've got one that doesn't do well on coconut oil OR ACV...both seem to increase itchiness!

We have an itchy boy who is on garlic supplements, topical flea meds, natural flea collar, and two pills a day of apoquel. We bathed him yesterday and I trimmed down his feathers, pants and tummy area. He seemed fine. Then this morning I had to put a cone on him again because he was devouring one of his feet.

One day the apoquel works the next it doesn't. Has anyone done immunotherapy while on apoquel? Can they get a good allergy test while they are taking apoquel?

I don't know if they can filter out apoquel when doing allergy tests but worth asking.

Well she had her second treatment course and no joy so we are hitting it with the most expensive treatment now in the hope it makes her more comfy.
I could have died when they said this course is £500 but if it works it's only insurance money

I asked and they can do the allergy testing while on apoquel but not while on steroids.

Is the testing or treatment painful or take long Vet visits? Since our itchy guy is dog reactive lengthy trips to the Vet are not great!

When my dog was taking allergy shots my vet let me do them since I know how to give shots. Saves having to go to the vet to get the shots.

How's Raven doing with her allergies, any relief? We start Ella on Apoquel tomorrow. Ears, eyes and paws are a mess this week. My vet said if this doesn't work she wants to start a Hydrolyzed protein diet.

Raven is still a little itchy.she is on human drugs and ear drops.

She is on raw diet and her allergy tests didn't show any food allergies.

She isn't as bad but her drugs are for a month so early days yet.

On the down side her sister now has a phantom pregnancy as well so this pair are going to be a yo-yo pair

We were at the Vet yesterday with out Lab and I asked him about CBD (Hemp non THC) oil for his arthritis. He said he had heard that it had anti inflammatory properties and that it was a safe supplement. Then he recommended we try it on McGee for his allergies. He said he recently heard about a dog that had tried steroids and apoquel and was still having issues. Another Vet gave him CBD oil and it helped him. Our Vet felt it was a different approach for that dog that was chewing and licking maybe not just from allergies. McGee is a "special" dog so maybe some CBD oil will help him. I will keep everyone posted.

Will be interested in seeing if the CBD oil helps.
So far her meds are at least controlling her ears and some of her issues.

Well the meds are working slowly but once she's finished them will be interesting to see how quickly she stays ok.

She is cranky at as she's in season so here's to having a healthy and happy girl back
