Introduction and slideshow

Hi
I joined NN last month and have been enjoying everyone's pictures. There are a lot of great photographers out there and a lot of beautiful newfs! Turner's slideshow is beautiful!
Our newf Jasper died in the spring, and we are currently newfless. For a while, we could not imagine having another newf "taking his place." Now, though, we are looking forward to having a new dog in our lives, and hoping that will happen fairly soon.

This is the slideshow I made of Jasper. I thought I'd share it with you by way of introduction.

Jasper's slideshow

I hope I've done this correctly. Please let me know if I haven't.

What a wonderful tribute to your boy. He looked like he was well loved and I'm sure he is sadly missed. Thanks for sharing his slide show.

Just some thoughts here..as , when I clicked to see the presentation, up came a note to the affect (effect?) that I needed a 'more modern set of installations'..and the son who deals with that realm..is off, building extensions to a tree house..with friends of his this weekend. So..I will poss. see the pictures later..but for now..it is wonderful you have reached that space in life..where your love of Jasper..and the lessons of shared support and loving..are 'rising'..in your awareness..enough so, that you can see your way clear to having another sweet furkid..in your future. When person or furkid etc..leaves us..it is always..so that we may grow, and we may..pass on the lessons of learned loving. A river..is NOT EVER..a square yard..of it's water..it is..a flowing, a happening..and that is what love..is always..all about. Hugs, and thanks for your joining NN...ina n HB

It certainly brought tears to my eyes, I hope everyone that peeks into this thread takes in your video/slideshow. I'm certain that their Newfs will get lots of extra hugs today.
Jasper had a wonderful, happy life. You must miss him terribly.

Welcome to Newf Net.

Ina, I had to upgrade my Quicktime to view it-it's a free upgrade, but a big file if you're on dial-up....18MB.

I checked the Quicktime only and unchecked the sign up for free stuff, opened it from it's location and it downloaded and then I installed it. You just need version 7.1.2 to view it.

Edited to provide link to QT. *slaps self on forehead* :D

Hi El and welcome to NN.
What a wonderful tribute to Jasper, thanks so much for sharing it with us all.
To me it had a very special meaning as I'm pretty sure Hollis was Jasper's littermate, and my Nicholas's Dad is Hollis.
Hope to see more of you around here and hope that soon you will have another furry pup to share with us all.

That is just such a beautiful tribute. I agree with Jennifer, it's so moving, I started crying almost them minute it started. Jasper obviously lived a wonderful full life with your family. Thank you so much for sharing. And I'm glad you decided to post!

Thanks everyone, for your kind comments. Sorry it made people sad, but I'm glad lots of Newfies are getting extra hugs today because of it. Jasper would like that, but would ask "How about cookies?"

Angela:That's so neat! Yes, Jasper and Hollis were littermates. I think Hollis is still living - the last of that big litter.
Is Nicholas one of the dogs in your Avatar? Which one?
