Ice Fishing! (PIC HEAVY!!)

It's a long weekend here in Ontario, Canada - Family Day weekend!

As part of our Family Day tradition, we head up North and go ice fishing with my family. The Newfs have a blast!

This is how the Newfs get to the shack. They sit in this sleigh with me behind the sled and off we go!


Anyone who is familiar with Timbits knows just how irresistible they are. Boum LOVES them and can smell them a mile away. No ice fishing trip is complete without Timbits and hot chocolate.

Boum - "can I PLEASE have that Timbit??"

LOL - their coats are out of control right now. The heater I use in the garage konked out on me and my fingers freeze off - this is the result! :p

A Timbit is essentially a donut, but it is in the shape of a small ball. Like the size of a golf ball, or a little smaller. Basically a one-bite donut. They are a Canadian staple. :)

Kaila loved your pictures, the dogs look they are having such a great time. How many fish would you catch in a weekend and do you eat them or give them to the dogs

Wow, these are great photos - what a fun family adventure! Love the picture of Boum's tongue all curled and ready for a timbit! And then asking and then DEMANDING one! Ha. And the one with your Dad - so sweet, did he know Ayasha had her nose in his cup or was that supposed to be for her? Gotta love it when the whole family loves the dogs...

Hi
I just had to show these to my husband who fishes non stop 12 months of the year. He loved them! When we were first married we use to go ice fishing together, but now I just snuggle under the blankets when he leaves at 4am, what's wrong with me? Seeing all the fun you guys had makes me want to go again. The Newfs obviously had an awesome day too. Thanks for sharing. I'm off to work now - Federal Gov't employees don't get provincial holidays. Enjoy the rest of your day!
