I taught him too well

Owain is a very dominent puppy and so I worked very hard to curb the "rushing through the door before me". I worked so well at it that now he won't go through a door without me begging him!! He just stands there looking like a blithering idiot.

Welcome to the world of naughty newfie puppy boys! I don't wish that on ANYONE but do find I'm getting a good chuckle! :)

Yes, like I just caught him humping Great Aunt Grace :(

:!rolling::!rolling:

I think I love him. Mainly because this sounds just like my Maggie. She came 90 miles an hour at you, and didn't stop because there was a door. She hit the screen so hard one time she bounced off it and bent it so bad I had to kick it off the track and get the neighbor kids to stand on each end while I banged it back into shape ( flat ) with a sledgehammer.

And the humping. Oh, the humping. She figured out how to wrap her front leg around yours if you were moving away, and 9 times out of 10, that takes you down. Then the humping would commence. And it was always my poor daughter. Between getting her pants ripped off by the furry alligator and the humping, it's a wonder she even acknowledges Maggie.

It does get better. And think of the stories you'll have!

I created the same problem with Lukey...I had to cahnge to throw a treat and say "outside" or "inside"..Now he waits for that...No longer with a treat

He's worse than the other 6 males I've had in the past!

Got expelled from school last week and now has to go for private lessons :(

We have exactly the same thing with Baloo. He either rushes through door ways with no consideration for anyone or stops half way through one and looks back at you as if he is saying "what are you waiting for for?". We also have the fury alligator and Baloo is only 6months old so we have all this to come!!! Oh what joy. lol.

In an effort to teach him to wee outside we started giving treats to get him used to it and for awhile he would go outside and walk away from us and position himself so you couldn't properly see and he would pretend to wee. He had the body position down to fine art so he would get a treat without actually weeing.
