Hopefully she gets used to her. Our cats detest Wash with every fiber of their being. Scared to death of him.

If Willow keeps pouncing and barking at her, Magoo is not going to be friends anytime soon. She adored my Springers but this is to much puppy energy for her.

Thats the same problem we have with Wash. He thinks the cats are also puppies, he just sees them as playmates, they see him as big and scary. Even now he doesnt really bother them but if he gets anywhere close they are not happy.

Our cats didn't approve at first now they all love each other. It took a while. Our cats have learned not to run.

The ONLY time our cats like the dogs......is when it's cold.....and Turner is snuggled down on the bed.....the cats all cuddle up close to him for the warmth! Then one move by Turner....and they all scatter!! Ha! Like moths to a flame I guess.....

Gorgeous cat and ADORABE PUPPY! We had the same thing happen whe we brought Elwood home. Our late cat, Hammy, was twice his size - and whoever had him first declawed him on all four. Hammy would go to claw Elwood on the head and Elwood would think he was trying to play. Unfortunately for Elwood, and luckily for Hammy, that cat had sharp teeth! An understanding was soon met, and when Elwood had surgery, Ham kept him company by sleeping next to his crate! Granted, he may have been taunting the poor guy.

Christopher the Cat has developed an interesting relationship with both dogs. He greeted Nigel the other day, to my surprise, and then I just heard that Emma was caught licking Christopher's ears!!! All this time, I thought he didn't like them......

My border collie, Denny, grew up buddies with two cats. They would snuggle together all the time. You could yell "Denny, GET THAT KITTY" and she would run to the window looking for a cat. She honestly didn't think of ours as cats. They were her buddies. She used to pay with them all the time.

These are cute pictures

Our older cats always taught the new pups manners, in the way of putting stripes across their noses. Usually just took once.

The other thing, is to have Willow on a leash, and teach her to do a down/stay when the kitty is in the room, at least until they are used to each other and have come to an understanding. We have a zero tolerance of kitty chasing here.

Brenna came to us as an adult rescue who really wanted to catch our kitties. The first time she was allowed off-leash in the house (after we'd worked with her and thought she understood), she took off after one of the cats, chased it through the diningroom...managed to slide into the base of the heavy oak dining table and throw it against the wall.....proceeded into the livingroom, rearranging the sofa and coffee table in the process...throw carpets were "thrown" in every direction, and the cat headed for mom. Mom caught Brenna and Brenna did a LONG down/stay. It took a while, but she's got the idea now. :)

We have had Husker for six months now and so far our orange tabby has spent the entire time in the master bedroom on the second floor.

Magoo is going to take some time winning over. It's all growling, hissing, spitting and slapping at the moment. But puppy Willow isn't exactly endearing herself to the cat. Pouncing in front of her and barking.

Magoo was a rescue kitty. A friend of mine was driving down I-94 outside of Milwaukee and saw a guy throw a kitten out the window. She stopped and scooped up the poor frightened animal. She couldn't keep her as she already had 2 cats in her apartment - all that was allowed. So I volunteered to take her. I'm not particularly a cat person. I've had terrible luck with them being so mean and just plain standoffish. But Magoo likes to cuddle on my lap or shoulder so I will keep her. I hope they both start getting along. I hate to think of her life if she is so tense around Willow.
