How to go in the snow??

Just had to share...Cimorene is out in the snow, which is now higher than her tummy and looking rather bewildered. Her "pooping grounds" as we call it, are not going to work. There are other areas less deep, such as in the wooded area of our yard.

Well, changed her mind, maybe she doesn't need to go...she has a stick and found a place to lie down.

Time to dig a path for her and an area for pooping. LOL. Brings back memories of doing that with our dog Jack.

We had to dig out the yard this AM so the little dogs could go (2 mini dachies) we got 15" in our NC mountains, Baby Huey loves it

I think it was Snuffles first winter after moving here we had a lot of snow...nothing like the east is getting now, but close to foot with drifting. I walked Snuffles in the plowed streets, but do you think he could do his business there?? NOOOOO! He dragged me through snow drifts and just squatted the best he could in the middel of yards, even though I know the snow had to be touching his butt. Of course, the warm poop would melt right down into the snow, and being the good neighbor I try to be, I had to dig it out. Wish Snuffles would learn to do it in the street on days like that.

We have drifts over 5' in our backyard, seems like Merlin & Tiki are having a blast this morning & acting as snow plows, they have cleared their own area for pooping, they just do not want to come in the house this morning, must be having too much fun! We walked up to the beach last night, it was brutal, downright painful once up by the ocean, the wind & the drifts were extreme, the 2 newfs ate it up, wanted to stay all night!! Had to come home & revive my frostbitten toes!
