How do they do it.

When I first talked about getting a newf I was met with some resistance. Think of the drool! They are big. What about all that hair? After meeting some real life newfs it was agreed that yes I could have a newf puppy! Now mind you I was to be his primary caregiver and he better not hurt the cats. And drool is gross.
Fast forward.
Taver has been with us for 15 months now. I have just been informed that he needs a sister to play with :).
I think my partner has been Newfed.
So now I begin the hunt. I hope it doesn't take as long as it did with Taver.
Maybe I just need to go to Ginny's and puppy nap one of those cuties.

Malc never wanted two newfs but it was his suggestion .could have knocked me back when l heard from a friend he was considering it.

Enjoy the hunt for a new baby or will you go to rescue?

If I can find a rescue that does well with cats that would be great, other wise it's a puppy for us. I'd really prefer a rescue, but it's my partners call.

I think the "hold out" had more to do with worry that the 17 year old golden mix would be uncomfortable with 2 newfs. Tbh it's a very valid concern. Brie is pretty fragile. I don't think she'll see another spring or summer. :( but 17 is a grand age.

I love it. Look back at the history starting in late summer of 2006 when Snuffles moved here from across the street and the *rules*we had to live by that *Grandma*, my mother imposed to start with. She has been totally newfed now though not to the point of having a second newf....but we have newf sat for 3 different newfs over the years. :)

I see that you are in Chesapeake. Are you a member of CNC? I was wondering, because Donna, the rescue chair, should be able to help...

Yes I'm in CNC. In fact, Brad, you gave me and my silly boy a ride last Christmas back to the hotel after the parade. I was the one covered in mud. :)

You did it, Taver! That is a big turnaround! Orca is 9 months and my SO is just starting to make noises about wanting another.

I talked to the area rescue and unfortunately there is not a female to be found! Please wish me luck in the puppy hunt. Though I think I may have a possibility. Funny how the first puppy hunt took about 18 months, and now it's so much easier.

Yes, you've been Newfed. And Leonard, I sure remember all those Grandma rules...sometimes I would read one of your posts and think to myself I must have got it wrong. It couldn't have been Leonard's mom who objected. :)
