When are you getting your puppy? I know the wait is the worst. Are you getting a puppy from a person in your area? It's nice to have a visit with your puppy before it comes home. Help with the anticipation.
i wont be getting mine until 2014 as i need to move out from my parents place, i dont want one until i have so i can raise him my way and can spend as much time as possible because alot of time i spend at my partners house, but once we move out together and have a nwf it will be perfect, i will be getting it from a bredder about an hour away so i visit her about once a month to play and hang out with hers, they are addictive.

The waiting is the hardest part! I traveled 3 1/2 hours both ways to WV to see the mom and dad and meet the breeders when momma was still pregnant. Then I went up when the puppies were 5 weeks old just to see the litter. Then drove back to WV to pick up my bundle of joy 4 weeks later. My husband thought I was crazy :icon_stupid:and was very amused with me during the whole process but every single trip was worth it!

Oh please say you and your pup will spend halloween weekend with us at Ocean City, Md.? It's just a bunch of us getting together for fun and food with our Newfs on the beach and boardwalk.

Check out the Newf get together section and hit on the last 100 days. You'll see our threads of our last get together at Ocean City when hurricane Sandy hit. It was fun and we'd sure like you to join us next year.

Actually you can look all the way back to 2009. That was the first year. :) The first two were picture perfect weather. The third was pretty miserable on Fri nite and Sat...it was during a Nor'easter. And the last one was when Superstorm Sandy was rolling in. Ya never know about OC at that time of year.

You can find all the threads under the section Newf Net Get Togethers. (Just click on Newf Net Forums top of page, left and then look through the different forums). There are lots of threads with information, and photos. Some pics may still be there. Others...may be gone by now. Depends on who posted them and if they still have their photos stored in the same place.

It's always the last weekend in October because that's the last weekend of the season for the Windjammer. They close until March after that weekend. So they allow us to have BIG dogs...and as many as we want. During the summer, they have limits. Plus they allow us to use the "courtyard". The hotel has a section in the center, facing the beach where chairs and tables can be set up, and it's a gathering place. During their regular season, no dogs allowed there. :)

Just watch when they fall out. They seem to find the tender, underside of your feet easily. Ouch!

Welcome from the Eastern Shore of Maryland!! I am near Bear N Mind and close to Chestertown. We Marylanders (and maybe others??) could have a Newfie get together once you get your precious baby in your home, and adjusted to life away from littermates.
