Hi Everyone,

Darlene and Bristles here in Chicago. Bristles is my first newf and is three years old. She loves everything and everybody. She is a hard working newf and excells at Dock Jumping. She is one of the few newfs in the sport of Dock Jumping and will be competeing over the fourth of July in Rockford.

Did she compete before? I was on the Dock Dogs Website quite a while ago and saw one Newf among all the other dogs in a previous competition, I believe it was in the Chicago area! Welcome to Newf Net, btw! Dock Dogs are coming to our Pet Expo in Sept. I am so excited!

How far does she go? I'm trying to get mine to jump but without much success. Princess has jumped twice but doesn't seem to like it.

Bristles has been dock jumping since 2006. Her best jump to date is 13' She has just start taking a running jump off the dock before that she would run the dock and stop and look at everyone as if to ask want me to jump. She is always a crowd pleaser especially since we use the competitions to reinforce water work. Her retrive items are a life jacket, a cushion, a oar and of course her bumper. This year at Rockford we are having a newbie night the day before the competition on July 3. If you are in the area come out and try it. Cost is just $10.00. We are located at the ice arena at Perryville and Riverside.

Have some video but I am still trying to figure out the recorder than I will need to figure out how to post it to the site. As soon as I do will try and get it out to you.

Bristles will be competeing over the Fourth of July Holiday at the Chicagoland DockDogs event at the Carlson Ice Arena in Rockford. (Perryville and Riverside) If you are in the area stop by and say hi. Or if you want to try dock jumping there is a "Newbie Night on Thursday, July 3rd from 3 PM to 7 PM where for a small fee you can try the sport with your dog without the pressure of competition.
