he's working hard on them. I think the one with the brownish hair will be most challengeing as it fades to black, he may have to add pencil, not sure.

Thanks Annette, We're having a personal plaque sale until February 14, 10% off. So what does that mean to You? Glad you asked ! Normal pricing is 35.00 personal plaque and up, the price can vary depending on the breed of dog. Generally Newfs at this time go for 35.00 a small foo foo dog that has hair sticking out all over the place would cost more because each hair that is sticking out or blends into another hair color , then each piece has to be burned which takes much time. Newfs are pretty general, their hair is general not too much variation in hair color.
The second hardest breed are husky's because at times they are one color during a stage of their life then they change color as they get older. So we do have to ask a lot of questions as it pertains to coloring. Also some photos are so old that the true color of a dog cannot be determined and in that case we may ask to just burn the dog out and stain it as a general plaque. You can see the variations on our face book page or the etsy store. When a plaque is done, we post it on our etsy store after notifying you and you pay for it through there with pay pal. Pay pal does take credit cards, that's why we use it.
you can see a personal foo foo breed on our FB page that will give you an idea of why it may cost more. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.202512029784175.42192.159250624110316&type=3#!/

also we have listed some standard breeds on our etsy store for only 20.00 (US ) they make a nice forever gift:) You can view them here

Thank you Capri! My husband started this as a hobby when he was laid off work a few years back, it grew from there because I ran out of wall and table space for all the ones he made of our dogs! They dog last forever and look very nice on table top plate holders which you can get at wal mart in the craft section for about 3 bucks. don't buy something like that in the picture /furniture section as for some reason they are more expensive for the same item! go figure.

LOL! Do you know how much they weigh? As in sending one or five of them to Belgium? (and nope I don't have the $$$ to order just yet, but maybe, maybe towards the summer)

We have never sent any out of the US, Ronnie will be our first, but we ship them as books because it is cheaper. Some people only buy one at a time when they can afford it , that is not uncommon especially in this economy. They are pine wood so they are not as heavy as say oak would be. I'll see if my husband can get a price on sending them to Belgium. also thanks to my friend Beth (here on NN) I have started a group page so it is more accessible to the public to share pictures, ask questions etc. http://www.facebook.com/groups/292072764188082/?profile_pic_upload=1&success=1

Thank you! I look forward to your reply :), and just joined the group :). I am thinking that it would be a very nice idea to put up the plaques of our dogs on our boat house wall in Finland, in their own fenced area that we hope to put up next summer. Do you think they'll stay good outside or will the weather wear them out quickly?

And just a random question: How long does it normally take you to make a newfie :) ?

they would not do well outside in weather, even though they have shellac on them I do not think they would hold up well outside. Shipping would be about 17 to 20 US dollars per one large envelope which is usually how we send out one plaque, several plaques would go together in a box and I can't be sure about the cost. It takes about 4 to 5 days to make a newf given drying times of paint, stain, shellac etc. Peter figures each plaque is about 2 lbs.
