I know this has been on many times before...But I'm not sure it pays to buy another Dyson..what do you think.

Did you take it in to a repair shop? Mine stopped working a few months ago. It turned out that the on/off switch broke. A $4.00 part and handy husband and it's working good as new.

Since it is a Dyson it might be worth it to try to get this one fixed. I think there is a list of authorized repair places on their website......

Aren't they supposed to have like a life-time warranty or something?
The problem with any warranty is how much does it cost you to get the product back to be fixed. Most warranties read you have to get it to the place of repair. I had a monitor once that went bad, and it would have been over $50 to ship at the time. Glad Sam's took it back since it was the 2nd one to fail (1st one out of the box), and it was past the 90 days.

When I went to get my Oreck repaired, I inquired about a Dyson and he said Dyson repairs were keeping him in business. I don't know if he was just trying to sell me something else or what.

Don't read this if you are half asleep. I thought Dyson was your dog when I first saw the posting. I was looking at getting one of these last week and was told that the vaccuum was to be sent back Fed Ex to the company. Glad I did not get it.

there is a phone number on the vac. Call them - many of the repairs they can walk you through over the phone. I did - and mine was easily fixed. 5 years later and still going strong!

My Dyson died a few months ago. We called the Dyson number and they set us up to have it repaired for FREE at a vac shop right across the highway from us. They didn't ask any questions about when or where we bought it.

BTW, it is the purple "Animal" model, I got it soon after they came out, the receipt has been lost and it turned out to be a broken belt. The repair shop also gave it a complete cleaning for free too.

I recently forked out $399 (list price $499 - 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath & Beyond) for the Dyson DC 25 "Ball" (the biggest of the current "Ball" vacs) and love it. Now we have one on each floor.
