No bad! Just keep trimming off the excess hair that sticks out from the ear flap with your thinners. The best thing about learning how to trim a dog is that the hair grows back!

I am still not too good at it but this advise from Cindy Williams has worked the best so far for us.....

Hold the ear up, and trim off any hair that is LONGER than the ear itself... then if you have thinning shears, gradually take off the long hair ON the ear...blending it in. The correct ear will be covered in shorter hair, and not look like a fringe.

If you hold the ear by the tip and hold it out, comb the hair down toward the floor. Then with your shears cut off, around the ear, any excess that hangs off. Be careful you know where the ear ends. Then comb the hair up and cut off the access that is longer than the ear flap again. Then use your thinners and trim off the excess hair ON the flap so you have a neat smooth look.
