We've had our Newfie "Roo" now for 3 weeks and overall life has been very good, I am a little surprised how smart they are. I've owned Bernese MT dogs which we truly loved the breed but there life span was very short. I found the Bernes smart but stubborn even as pups, not sure if that was due to them coming from very small litters and we always ended up with the alpha pup.
Roo came from a littler of 9 and lived with slightly older cousins while he was with his mom. He came to us weighing 14lbs and is now 23 so he growing nicely, he's got the peeing and pooping idea and on the way to mastering it, sit come he is doing well just need to fix the mouthing problem.
The only thing I don't get is the pawing of the water bowl, anyone have any inside into what that's all about or is it just fun!
