We've had our Newfie "Roo" now for 3 weeks and overall life has been very good, I am a little surprised how smart they are. I've owned Bernese MT dogs which we truly loved the breed but there life span was very short. I found the Bernes smart but stubborn even as pups, not sure if that was due to them coming from very small litters and we always ended up with the alpha pup.
Roo came from a littler of 9 and lived with slightly older cousins while he was with his mom. He came to us weighing 14lbs and is now 23 so he growing nicely, he's got the peeing and pooping idea and on the way to mastering it, sit come he is doing well just need to fix the mouthing problem.

The only thing I don't get is the pawing of the water bowl, anyone have any inside into what that's all about or is it just fun!

Just fun...they LOVE water no matter if it is their water bowl, the bath tub (they do jump in) pool. lake or ocean. Have fun and welcome from Utah!

Welcome from Greenlawn :) Enjoy your little one. They grow sooo fast! Roo sounds like a smart pup. How old is he now? You'll have to share some pictures...

I don't think you can post from an iPad. Do you have a desktop or laptop? If so, email the picture on your iPad to your desktop then put it on a photo hosting site like Photobucket.

Welcome! Thor use to LOVE playing in his bowl, but we fixed that issue with a spill proof bowl from petco. It was less than 10 dollars. :) Just today before his bath he got to play in the sprinkler. lol Newfies seem to be a pretty mouthy breed and at 8 months we are still working with Thor on that. Good luck!

I spent all of last summe with wet floors when Suki was a puppy pawing at her wanted bowl! I always thought she did it because she was hot.

Thanks cmorgan for the advice, I was going to the pet shop today to get more toys, these are 3 weeks old and I think he's getting bored with them so i'll checkout the bowls.

I assume his little butt won't fit in the bowl, he may not like that ;)

I use the photobucket app a lot with my iPhone. Just upload the pics, touch and hold the pic you want, that brings up image codes. The one you want for here should be the bottom one with this- [ img ] at the beginning. Touch that and it's copied then paste in your post :)
And welcome from MT :)
