Hello all!

I've been a "lurking" member since 2004, so I suppose it's about time that I say thanks to all of you!

We adopted an 8-10 week old Newf or Newf/Lab pup from the shelter about a month ago, and I have to say that without NN, I would've been absolutely lost. I was prepared for the drool, and the shedding, but apparently not for the puppy stage. He (Henry) behaves exactly like a perfect little Newf pup; growling, barking, biting, and chewing constantly. I really thought that something was wrong with him. The insight and tips offered here have been a true lifesaver!

Thanks again!!

Big welcome from NJ - I agree completely! When we got Nanook I thought "Everyone else has such sweet newfs! Mine's broken!" Thank goodness for everyone on here explaining breed-specific reason for the mouthiness!

I agree with the drool, biting and barking but growling? Not Tulsa ever

Since I wasn't here reading about Nanook's crazy moments, I think he's a sweet Newfie.

Welcome!

A great big Newfy welcome from Illinois! Just remember though, Newfs are like potato chips, it's hard to have just one.
