Leonard and his bud Snuffles

Hi. My name is Snuffles and I turned 11 years and 8 months today. Not doing too bad for how Dad refers to me as "A Old Man" when all those humans ask about me. I do have trouble with my hind end the last year plus because of a bad left knee, but Dad makes sure I get my supplements, Derramax and massages, acupuncture and chiropractic care to keep my body feeling as good as possible. I think I am glad he did not do all that surgical stuff. I have had no other medical issues to require a visit to my regular Vet. I hope they did not forget I am still alive, though I do have a appointment next month for just a checkup with blood work. Hope Dr Becky says, "Nothing exciting here". That is her way of saying all is good. LOL.
I have been having a bit of trouble in the poop department, I think Dad calls it a bit of constipation. Occasionally it just comes out even after a walk in the house and very hard. But Dad takes it in stride since clean up is easy. I was such a good boy the first 9 years plus living here. Sometimes a old guy just can't help it and dad knows it. Dad did start mixing some white powder called Benefiber in my meal for the last week or so as well as take me to the short hose to get a drink, because I always LOVE fresh cold running water up in my jowl and drink a lot more than just lapping it up out of a bowl. I guess water can help keep things moving in humans and dogs. Yesterday Dad had to clean me up a bit. When Ginger came by she was really playful. The cooler air had her wound up. When I got up, I had the urge, and Dad did not know it, and in helping me to get up, I fell on my butt just as things were starting to come out, so he gave my rear a quick bath last night.
Here is a picture Dad took of me a few minutes ago. I don't think I look happy, but not because I am old and grumpy. I just had my treats from the garbage men. I use to be so mean to them, but now I LOVE them. It is a BEAUTIFUL day out there, mid 30s, brisk wind, damp grass from a small rain during the night. But Dad won't stay out there with me. He claims it is too cold. He lets me out all the time to lay on the porch or yard, but when I bark to tell him to join me, he comes to the door, and says, "I am right here Snuffles." but will not come sit with me. I just don't get it why he doesn't want to enjoy the fresh air like I do. Also, when I am happy out there by myself, those two new puppies from down the street come and bother me. They want this old man to play and it ain't happening. Was I that obnoxious when I was a little newf puppy like Zola?? And she is pretty calm compared to her Australian Sheppard brother Koda.
Anyway Dad says it is time to eat breakfast. Thanks for reading, and hope I am here to update every month even past my 12th birthday.
