Gunny vomited

Gunny just vomited some white slimey stuff, it almost looked like milk. I always go into a panic when he vomits. I took him outside and he peeded and came back in and is laying down. The first thing I think of is bloat. I'm worried because it was really odd looking stuff he threw up.

Does he look to be in distress? Panting, moaning, unable to settle while he's laying down?

Could he have gotten into anything? Or ingested anything that you can tell?
Does your vet have 24hr emergency? If they do, give them a call right now and ask what they think of white vomit.

Our vet is open 24hrs and they are really good about answering questions over the phone during their emergency hours.

I hope Gunny feels better soon and that it is not anything serious.

He is not panting or moaning. He's not drooling. He is lying at the foot of the bed. He didn't get into anything that he could have eaten. But I am going to call the vet at 7:30. There is an emergency vet near me but they are so expensive. I took Gunny there when he had a blockage. Don't get me wrong I would spend anything to help Gunny, but I think this can wait till my vet opens.

Just got back from the vet. The vet checked him out, felt his tummy and listened to it. He could find nothing wrong. He did give him a shot for nausa and told me to feed him light today. He also showed me how to feel Gunny's tummy if I think he has bloat. Also we discussed the signs of bloat. He was glad he threw up somehting because gagging without anything coming up is bad.
God how I worry about these guys.
Thanks for listening to me. That is one of the great things about newf net.

Glad Gunny seems OK now. Every time I see Snuffles all of a sudden sit up or hear him move in the middle of the night, I have to wonder if it is the start of bloat discomfort.

Generally when Snuffles has thrown up, I can equate it to a cause, like eating something he should not of such as a piece of a toy, a cockle-burr pieces he dug out of his feathers to a small ham bone he must have found. Now and then, he will after drinking water, but that seems to happen when we are walking/playing.

Great idea on where to feel the tummy. I will have to get my vet to show me where to feel. He just had his vet check last week, so I guess I will ask in July when his vaccinations are unless something else comes up sooner

Sometimes the "milky stuff" can be frothy slime.........And ours get this occasionally after they have been a little hot or exited. Or sometimes even after a lot of exercise.
It sometimes also happen when they have eaten some grass.
It is always good to keep an eye out on bloat, but if they see comfortable and not stressed I would be happy........
