Funny How They Know

This morning around 5am my son Kolton woke up feeling ill. There's been a bit of a flu bug going around and I think Kolton is the next lucky host. He's not feeling to bad tonight just a little fever and run down.
But it's amazing to watch Thunder around him. He's been by his side all day long. If Kolton moves to the couch he goes too. And if he lays on the love seat he moves over beside him, the grand distance of 2-4 feet!
I swear Thunder knows he's not feeling well! Or is it me? Have any of you experienced this kinda thing?

Charlie was a great nurse when I was sick and under quarantine with the mumps. He stuck close 24/7 and didn't complain about the lack of walks.

Sweet picture..and the 'nannying'..going on. Of course they know..and for every cough, sneeze, muscle ache and naseua moment, etc., the various 'scents'..which eminate from your son..are making trails of 'not happy' colors (so to speak) all around and about him. Since we are not apt to be able to 'read' the scents..the way our canines do..it helps to think of them..as colors. Heal fast, ina n HB

For sure they have that radar thing going on when we are feeling ill or just a little sad. The velcro thing goes into overdrive...

Good for Thunder. I believe these guys are very, very intuitive to our feelings. I've been fighting a nasty bug the last couple of weeks and have been spending more than the usual amount of time on the couch. All three of the pups will lay down in front of the couch and Henry will occassionally sit up, rest his head along the side of my face and then give me a big kiss. They are the best nurses.

Ethel, Oreo, and Luci are our bedmates when we don't feel good. I used to joke that the "RN" after Ethel's name meant Registered Nwef Nurse.

I was just talking about this very thing tonight. Whenever I come off a long night of being on call (sometimes over 20hrs straight), and have to be at work at the mercy of the beeper, Bojie knows when I come home if I need to sleep, regardless of whether it's morning, noon or night. He's gone 15hrs just lying at my side letting me sleep the awful call work weekend off, and won't bother me to go out at all AND won't go out with anyone else. However, if I come home, and I don't need sleep, he's in my face non-stop wanting to play, go out etc. They are completely in tune with their people....

I've just found out that I am pregnant, only 6 weeks gone so still very early days but I get quite tired in the afternoon & when I get home from work I have a lie down on the sofa....Winston will come up & rest his head on legs & put his paw on my tummy. He's never done this before but it makes me feel quite protected & loved:heart:

I forgot, I work nights, Ehtel and Luci make sure I have a "snuggly" day's sleep by keeping me comfy and of course they are there just in case I might want to exercise my arm & hand by giving them pets, and tummies

Gracie climbs on the couch and rests her head across my legs and Maneen stays close on the floor and I swear never takes his eyes off me when I'm sick. [I love Ina's descriptions of colours. That's perfect.]

Aw, Thunder is a sweet boy.

Brody needs to be exercised just so we can manage him. On a regular day, if he isn't walked, we will pay for it all day long. I had pneumonia in November, and I basically ignored him for an entire week (my son and non husband took over caring for him). Brody didn't complain or destroy the house. When I started walking him again, I walked slowly and he never tried to rush me.

Brody also knows when I'm trying to fake sick. I'll be on the couch not wanting to go for a walk and he'll be obnoxious:)
